Cam V3 Firmware, loses sync with SD can't view recording or missing completely

The SD card recording has never worked right, but at least when it did record, I could view what was on the screen.

Current version: 4.36.16.5654

Android 16 lastest updates

Google Pixel 7Pro

I set to restart my camera 3-4x a day, because it would record for 4-6 hours and then stop until I rebooted again.

After Firmware update a couple weeks ago, the video now get stucks at current time I view and can’t look back at previous recorded, even if it’s recording. ( I can view cloud saved events)

It now usually only records for awhile or so with multi breaks in between, then stops, and if I reboot, everything there previously is no longer accessible.

Multiple times this past weeks since update, I’ve Reset Services, synced time, cleared Cache in app and from phone settings app. Reformated card.

It will work a few hours then go haywire again and can’t scroll back. I was hoping the firmware would fix the previously known SD card issue, which is why I updated.

Anyone else seeing this? I don’t see other posts but sometimes it’s all mixed in.

It has basically completely rendered SD card useless.

Have you tried a different SD card?

Not yet,

It’s always been wonky, same problem as many others I follow on the forum, but I found balance to make it workable.

This started the Same day after firmware update, couldn’t view earlier recordings after few hours, it just pretend to load and then sits there. Like it’s lost sync with time.

Sometimes since firmware update ( I don’t have screenshot but will get again) The video and SD card marker time stamp would be off 5-10 minute, the video would be playing, but not at the time the marker was at. This was usually when came from events and then viewer SD card

I will find another SD card or buy one just because, but this started the day of firmware update.

Thought you said it was having some issues before the update also.

At the very least, pull the card and use the formatter from sdcard.org to do a proper format on it. Ideally the full overwrite format, will take a while but can find and mark bad cells on the card. But I’d recommend also trying a different card just to see if it changes anything. SD cards have a certain lifespan, and eventually they start getting bad spots and resulting in this sort of behavior.

Yes, issues just like others have on forum with it not recording or being accessible at times. But restarting regular limited those issues. That was previous recommendation from forum.

But then when you restart, you could still access the SD card previously recorded. Not anymore.

This current frustration happened on all three (3) V3 camera simultaneously the same day after Firmware update.

Pain in the butt to get to these but I’ll try the steps at some point. One camera maybe SD card, 3 at same time after firmware tends to lean towards a firmware issue.

Understood but my thinking is that if the SD card was already having issues, the firmware update may have just made those issues present a bit differently.

Though I’m not sure if you mean 2 out of 3 were fine then the update gave them issues, or if all 3 were having SD issues before, I thought we were talking about one cam in particular.

Three separate V3 camera, all with exact same issue, at same time, after firmware update recently

Yes, they’ve had issues since I started with brand new endurance SD cards, the same issues some have reported for past couple years with some V3 cams and are verified on the forum by multiple user’s who have done all the suggestions you gave me, and still have the same issues. I’ve even replied on some of those forum’s.

Hence why I’m not overly excited or optimistic to do all those steps you’ve suggested, when others previously with my verified issue did and nothing changed. And when I can pinpoint the exact time these new issues started.

But, I will at some point. Or flash back to previous firmware and see if they disappear.

Primarily my post is to potentially see if I’m only one, or if others have seen similar viewing issues since firmware, but are just too frustrated too Post or share and do all these steps That seem like they should be redundantly unnecessary

The post helps narrow down me only vs wyze issue or not.

If all 3 started having issues with new SD cards, now I’m wondering about those SD cards - brand, whether they might be counterfeit, etc?

As I mentioned if the SD cards were already having issues, the firmware may have just made that issue evident in a different way, corruption or bad spots just being handled differently.

I’d at least try a full format with that utility on one card, to see if it changes anything. Or maybe swap in a different card that isn’t from that same batch you bought.
