Hello,
I have a Pan v3 on my driveway that stopped writing to the card. I assumed the card had died, so I swapped it out. The new card also has the same issue. I took the old card from the Pan v3 and put it in another camera, and it works fine.
The problem is that the camera either fails to format or fully doesn’t detect the card. I’ve tried rebooting, resetting to factory default, and nothing works.
I’m thinking the camera might just be junk and need to be replaced, but I am posting in hopes that someone has any ideas.
I just checked my pan V3s; one is still recording to the SD card, the other isn’t. I’m sure I have them both set to record to the card. On rebooting, the pan V3 started writing to the card again. I wonder how long before it stops again?
If you poke around a bit, you’ll see that this has been happening with some Cam Pan v3s for the past year or so, and I have no idea why. One of my two Cam Pan v3s has been recording continuously pretty much since I set it up a couple of years ago; the other developed flaky microSD recording perfomance starting around mid-December of last year, and my ticket with Wyze didn’t lead to any resolution.
Someone recently claimed that writing certain directories and a file to a card (either manually or with a script) is the solution. I’m skeptical but have had other priorities and have not yet tried this.
From my perspective, this appears to be similar to what many (non-Pan) Cam v3 users were reporting last year, and in that case the solution seemed to come from a server-side fix after several Fix-It Friday rounds. Just based on my own experience with Cam Pan v3 and what I read of the Cam v3 users’ experiences and other Cam Pan v3 users’ experiences, this seems like the same sort of thing, but we’ve been without Fix-It Fridays to try to focus the same kind of community attention on issues like that for a while, so I don’t really know where this particular issue is on Wyze’s radar.
