Cam pan v4 improvement

I have had the cam pan v4 since Jan 1, 2026.

When first got the cam, it was REALLY bad. I was not able initially get it to setup and connect to LIVE view. When Wyze support pushed a firmware update, it was marginally better. Lots of lag in panning the camera. Switching to 4K and it really was bad.

I will say with each firmware update (including the one Wyze pushed out to my cam), the camera has drastically improved. With firmware 3311, i can definitely tell overall improvements with the camera.

My experience with the cam started off so bad, it was almost unusable.

Is the camera perfect? No, but credit to Wyze support in pushing out updates to make the cam better. This camera might be on the way to becoming a Wyze cam favorite.

Any other Cam Pan V4 users seeing any improvements?

I have same problem..it’s never going livestream how I solve the problem?

If you’re running the latest firmware and app (which resolve some of the initial v4 issues), I would test bringing the cam closer to your wifi. If it works better, you know you need to try and get a better signal to the cam.

I updated all (cam & app) but still same problem..it is recording motion but never going livestream…my internet very fast and I put near router

Your internet speed is unrelated, it only needs about 2mbit up and down.

I would check your router for any “advanced security” or “malware protection” features (sometimes it is just called something like firewall level = high). Those features aren’t all that useful and often have false positives and block things they shouldn’t (such as the newer authentication that the latest cams and firmware are using). This can be especially true on ISP provided routers.

There are also some routers that block stuff between the 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi bands, so if your cam and viewing device are on two different bands, that can sometimes interfere. That is rare, but worth testing.

Does it do this both at home on your wifi and when away on cellular data (you can test this by shutting wifi off on your phone)? If so, then it likely isn’t related to the two wifi bands and more likely something in your router blocking it getting to the internet to authenticate.

Hi my friend

Now it’s working livestream when I use vpn ?!….why should I use vpn to see livestream?!….I have other Wyze cam 4 but not ban they work without vpn?!

That would definitely imply that your router (or possibly your ISP) is blocking something. VPN bypasses those blocks. However do you mean you’re turning VPN on for your entire network, or just on your phone?

The Panv4 uses a newer streaming protocol and authentication than the regular v4. Probably triggering some false positive in your router, so try disabling any “extra” security stuff in the router. You can leave firewall enabled etc.

It is also possible your cell provider is trying to compress the 4K video stream and that is interfering.

To clarify, what does/does not work?
-When your phone is on the same wifi as the cam without VPN
-Same but with VPN
-When your phone is using cellular data without VPN
-Same but with VPN

Any condition with vpn work

Any condition without vpn doesn’t work

How I solve this problem?

Need you to describe what VPN setup you have. Are you talking about a VPN on your router for your home network, or something on your phone?

If it works when you set up your home network to go through a VPN, then as I said, either your router or ISP is blocking the cams.

If it is on your phone and VPN works on both wifi and cellular data, but without doesn’t work on either, then honestly I’m not sure, there must be some sort of firewall or malware protection on your phone. Have you tested a different phone/viewing device?

Vpn app in my iPhone and iPad….I try to use android phone but when I want to setup cam 4pan I don’t find in Wyze app option to setup cam 4 pan..I am using three devices (2 iso and one android) but still same problem….I have other Wyze cam they are working without vpn but my new two Wyze cam 4 pan don’t work ( livestream) without vpn app phone

You’re using the latest wyze app? Or are you using web view on the internet?

Honestly I cant think of anything in your case that would cause the app to work via VPN but not via wifi OR cellular data, on multiple devices. You’re 100% sure it does not work on cellular data (wifi disabled) without VPN?

The android device may be too old to run the wyze 3.x app which is required for that camera, but that’s a separate issue.

One thing that comes to mind - is your internet/wifi also cellular - wireless home internet from your phone provider?

If they compress video (which they often do) then that could impact both and prevent it from working. VPN bypasses their compression.

@humaid8844 - Please reach out to your Internet service provider and ask if they are blocking your video camera streams.

I not live in USA….but I ordered cameras from USA …is it problem? Is it for American market only.?

Not necessarily but every region and ISP has different rules and policies. Plenty of people use them outside the US but I can’t tell you what is or is not supported in your region.

As @Seapup said, based on your symptoms, it sounds like your ISP is blocking your ability to view the feed, at least the 4K feeds. That is something you need to discuss with them.
