Have been dealing with the same issue on a couple of my camers for over a year now. I’ve communicated with Wyze support who has continuously told me to be patient they are working on a firmware update to fix the issue, but still it persists.
Now my cameras are out of warranty and Wyze support will not take any responsibility for their defective camers.
I have been back and forth with their orders team via email. I continually ask for them to escalate my case, but they ignore my requests. I’m tired of this. I’ve been a Wyze customer since they started and have over 13 Wyze cameras and can’t believe how they are treating their loyal customers who have been dealing with this known issue.
How can I get my case escalated to a higher level than their orders department?
I started with Wyze also, bought in total over 40 cams
Over the years I found out how bad Wyze actually is.
If your Internet cuts out even briefly it can cause issues writing to the SD as an Internet connection is needed to keep the camera working properly. I have seen them recover from an Internet outage and seen them corrupt the SD which stops the recording to SD until you format the SD card, and sometimes it requires a PC to format.
Then there’s the quality issue with the glue used in the lens if exposed to direct sunlight the glue breaks down and eventually you get infamous “Lens Fog” as moisture gets in.
Then there’s dealing with the apathetic Wyze customer service which is one of the worst I have found in the consumer camera industry.
And Updates 
I finally quit updating towards the end as it usually only brought more issues to resolve or wait for next update.
Bought different brand of cameras and the experience is 100% different 
No longer dealing with issues and having cameras that just work is great…
I’m using Reolink’s 4k series of cams which are far better than Wyze could ever hope to be, and no Subscription required to unhobble the cams.
Also trying Tapo’s C121’s and so far much more reliable than Wyze cams. Tapo’s are price comparative to Wyze
