Interesting. I never use the rotate to landscape when viewing playback (I only discovered this existed very recently), but that is definitely an issue that the timeline doesn’t show in landscape. I will bring that up to make sure Wyze is aware.
In portrait you can zoom the timeline, it’s just pretty difficult because the timeline is so small. Minimizing the row with actions above definitely helps though it is still an issue.
I mean I think we all understand why they’re doing it. This is how they’re trying to keep the cost of the camera down by selling extras. What? They should do it in a less invasive way because the more invasive they are when people want to actually use the camera, will turn them off and look for other brands.
Maybe every once in a while would be acceptable but having the default go to a misleading screen to try to sell you the service every time is not the way to go.
But once I know to look for some sort of playback or SD card, it is just the next rest step in a wasted screen on me to try to sell me a service over and over.
I’m still trying to figure it all out because probably once I get used to what triggers. What if you looked at my pictures? I could get around this nonsense quicker.
As far as expanding the timeline, I’m still finding it very tricky. I found the old timeline to be tricky as well but then eventually got the handling. With the new timeline I tried to pinch and expand and sometimes it works. Other times it will slide the timeline many hours away so I have to scroll back down to the original time. They should just make it a button and remember your preference. I can’t get to the actual event that I want to without expanding. Many times I have tried where it will show the event and I move the bar to the green bottom of the box and it will tell me there are no events at that time. I have to try to eek it up but then I miss the beginning of the clip
This is definitely much harder to use than the interface with the V3.
I’m returning my camera because I also don’t have any sound. Despite a ticket and generic autorespond tips, none of those suggestions resulted in any better sound. If it’s in live I can speak and hear it on the phone. But definitely in the UI there is no audio and a minor scratching noise.
I bought it through Amazon So the return will be painless
and I’m returning because it is so disappointing that it does not record after the initial, what it appears to be 1 minute post time during the cool down Period.
This makes no sense to me why they would do that. It’s okay that they don’t alert me but why would they block me from recording to my SD card in that period
I did five passes in front of the camera. Waiting a minute in between each holding my fingers up. I only had the initial and then I guess one other out of five. I think that was because it ended up being around the 5 minute mark.
I’m also attaching a another screenshot showing the grayed out playback. I get an alert I click and this is what I get.
Sounds like you are trying to pinch in or out vertically (logical since on the new UI the timeline is vertical). However you actually need to pinch in or out horizontally. Yea, makes no sense other that that is how you did it on the old UI…
