The bulb cam with no subscription will not records any video to the SD card. I have the recording set to continuous. I’ve tried different setting scenarios. The software is up to date. All I ever can get, even with continuous recording is just a tiny shot of a car bumper, or tiny shot of something that moved. Without video recording this cam bulb is really useless. It takes a snapshot of the first second of movement and that’s all I ever see. I’m so dissapointed with Wyze. I would return it but unfortunately I’m past the 14 day time. This cam bulb also loses connectivity every few days. I had a Wyze outdoor cam in the same spot and it never lost connectivity and it always recorded a 12 second video. Wyze, please make this right!
If set to continuous it should be recording non stop. How are you viewing the video - from an event or just navigating around the timeline? Does it show a solid green line on the timeline to show it has recorded the whole time?
Sometimes people get confused on the screen where you set continuous recording. You want continuous to be white, not grey. Grey looks like “selected” but it actually means not selected.
If it is not recording non stop to the SD card when set to continuous, either the camera or the SD card must be bad. Symptoms like what you’re seeing can be a sign of a counterfeit SD card (which are extremely common).

I suspect that you may be looking at the wrong part of the app when trying to view your microSD recordings and that what you’re describing is seeing static event thumbnails on the Events tab (or possibly in Bulb Cam’s plugin page “Recent Events” section) instead of navigating to the Cam’s microSD recording timeline. Even as a non-subscriber, you should be able to see event videos from the card by navigating to the correct part of the UI in the app, which you can get to in two different ways:
- From a Cam’s Live Stream screen, tap the SD Card button in the “menu bar” (the strip of icon controls below the live view pane). There you can navigate the microSD card recording timeline, which you can swipe, pinch, and spread to scroll, zoom out, and zoom in. If you have Settings ➜ MicroSD Card set for Continuous recording, then you should see an unbroken green stripe on the microSD recording timeline.
- From the app’s Events tab, tap an event. If you’re not using a subscription, then the app will show you a static event snapshot in this area. You can jump directly to the microSD video for that event by tapping the SD Card button in the overlay menu on this event screen. If you don’t see the overlay menu, then you can tap a blank area of the screen to make it pop in from the side.
