Bird Detection

Which Camera’s currently support detecting ‘Birds’ as opposed to just ‘Pets’?

I didn’t think I’d have need for this, but I just hung two glass bird baths from Shepard’s hooks in the back yard, and the wind is causing them to sway a bit. I’m hoping I can make a V4 detect birds, and ignore the ‘motion’ of the swaying water dishes.

The battery cam pro is used with Wyze’s bird feeder so I have to assume that one does, however it also includes a macro lens which blurs out anything not close to it, so that may be part of what makes it good for that purpose.

Right now it is just with the Battery Cam Pro. I expect they will extend this to the other cameras that people use for the Bird Feeder.

I can confirm it’s currently only on the Battery Cam Pro. A week or two ago a setting for “birds” appeared in the Customize Recording page. Yea, I said, then within a few days it disappeared. The only way I could get birds was with all motion.

Then today I was looking at something else and low and behold it was back. I am on the latest beta. Not sure if it was added back in or not. See below.

Of interest, the bird setting is dependent on the pet setting. If you select bird it also selects pet.

Does it work? Initial testing says yes. See below.

Up until the last event it was detected as motion. Last event was bird.

Now let’s see if it sticks for a while😅

My initial testing did not hold true. I had the one notification yesterday morning. The birds have been in the feeder non stop last 24 hours and not one event or notification. If I scroll through the SD card it is covered with birds. I even turned on motion tracking. I was able to watch a bird in the feeder for a couple of minutes. Motion tracking was all over it. Not one event recorded. Oh well. It initially looked good. Going back to just motion and see if I start recording events again

You may have already seen this:

Just dropping that here 'cause I know you’ve been trying this feature and that you report from time to time about your experiences with beta releases.

Thanks
