Hey, folks!

You know how we’ve been working on the Google Home integration for a while? We’re getting AWFULLY close to the beta testing portion of the integration! We’re hoping to open it up for beta testers that sign up through this SurveyMonkey link by the end of the week but there’s a couple of bugs we want to try to fix first so that timeline may get pushed back a little.

To use this integration, you will need either a Wyze Cam v2 or a Wyze Cam Pan and a Google Home device with a screen. Chromecasts totally count here. The reason that the original Wyze Cam isn’t on this list is because there’s a hardware limitation.

We’re going to use this group for the feedback but PLEASE don’t discuss the testing outside of the Wyze Labs Beta Testers Facebook group and the beta category in the Wyze forums. Remember, the first rule of Google integration testing is to NOT talk about Google integration testing. :wink:

Hi there. A bit confused. Are you talking about beta testing with GOOGLE HOME HUB? Or the direct testing with the GOOGLE HOME APP instead of IFTTT? I think you are probably talking about beta testing with the HUB since you mentioned a screen.

The testing are pointed at Chromecast and Google home hub both as visual interfase for Wyze Cam V2 and Wyze Cam Pan models thru Google assistant integration so this should involve Google Home APP level of integration too. BRs

Well I guess I’m out , I just recently got a Google home mini But no screen and no Chromecast .

I asked because I can push the button on my android tv remote and use google assistant (what powers google home) through the device.

A Chromecast is well worth the money if you have an HDMI port on your T.V. and it will connect to your Google home mini. It’s about the same cost as the Wyze Cam.

Just want to confirm; does the beta forum mean that one can sign up to be a beta tester WITHOUT joining a Facebook group? Because if so, I will definitely sign up for beta testing now.

Hello @rpitera, you don’t have to join the Facebook group to become a beta tester but it is recommend so that you can stay up to date with the latest information from Wyze.

If this is the case, then why does the form in the link sent by Loki state the following?:

Facebook Email

This is the email address you login to Facebook with and necessary for getting people into the Facebook group where discussion about the testing process happens. You will not be accepted into testing if we cannot communicate with you!

I’m confused here. I really want to be a beta tester and I have extensive experience testing both hardware and software. I simply want no part of FB, for obvious reasons. But I cannot complete the form without providing a FB email address as it is a required field.
