Beta Firmware 3.9.1.102

EDIT: Firmware 3.9.1.102 has now been pushed out to the public and is no longer in beta. Thanks for your help!

Hey, Wyze People!

We are currently testing Firmware 3.9.1.102 in the beta program. This upgrade is designed to fix two issues that could cause a WyzeCam to go into the flashing blue state (resulting in connectivity issues). Please give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Best,

WyzeCracker

Cannot connect to camera’s anymore. I would have to go back home after work to reset the connection. Not too happy about the firmware update.

Did firmware update ( or so it said ) to 3.9.1.102 from work. Process completed. Logged off and back on, and it says I need to “Update” again.
I am guessing the update failed. Do you need to be on the same network for this to actually update?

I was pushed this version this morning, I do not recall signing up for Beta. Please advise.

102 was in the beta for a while. It was pushed to public yesterday or the day before.

WyzeR how does this apply to the fact that the firmware update doesn’t stick?

ddkgatley, have you tried to do the firmware update again since your first post? If so, did you have the same result? Sorry to hear about that trouble!

Perryham, sorry to hear that! Are you still having connection issues with your camera?

WyzeCracker, I updated the software on all 18 of my cameras yesterday. Today I was having problems with 10 of them. However, I decided to swipe the app off my iPhone. I then reopened the app and all 18 cameras are connected. I will need to remember this when I have this problem again.

You don’t need to be on the same network to kick off update. Once update starts, your phone/tablet temporarily loses connection with your camera (this is true for pretty much all IoT update). If upgrade took too long to finish our app may say failed (due to timeout) but it can actually succeeded. You can check by reconnecting to the app later.

We do see cases for true upgrade failure. In most cases, trying to upgrade again 1-2 times will succeed. There is about 1% rate our update may roll back to 3.9.1.0 version (the manufacture default). That is not end of world. You can upgrade again to get the latest version. If you see LED light to be solid yellow, please contact support@wyzecam.com for a hardware replacement.

On our end, we will keep working on reducing the upgrade failure rate. It is a hard issue to tackle but we will keep working on it…

Thanks!

Took more than one attempt but it seems to have succeeded. Thanks for responding @WyzeCracker

Glad to hear that you had an easy fix! Sorry about the initial trouble, though. Thanks for sharing your information!

You’re welcome! I’m glad that the upgrade eventually went through.

Since this update, I keep getting movement alerts from various cameras. When I go to look at the clip, there is nothing there. What’s going on?

I seem to be having same issue as cusman, getting movement alerts and when I view the clip, nothing is there

Look really closely at movement. I have some trees WAY in the distance… when then wind blows, its sets off the motion detection :stuck_out_tongue:
Also watch light changes. Sometimes mine goes off when a cloud goes by, hahaha.

I think there still needs to be a little tweaking in the movement detection algorithm (>,<). Maybe even some debugging into what is setting the motion off and setting a threshold for that movement.

Sorry, lol, my mind starts going and … well I am a developer so… yea :stuck_out_tongue:

I have looked closely also, I moved the camera to eliminate the view of what I suspected might be triggering the alerts. But today, no matter how I adjust the camera, I am getting alerts exactly 5 minutes apart. What would cause that?

Sorry, I think I wasn’t clear enough in my first post. There are actually two issues.

First, yes, I get alerts of movement, and there is none. Sometimes it is trees, and I kinda understand that. But, it also does it if the sun comes out. That seems weird.

Second, the real reason I started this is because I get an alert that there is movement since the last update. When I go to the notifications to look at the clip, there is no clip! There is nothing to watch. So, now I am getting movement alerts from different cameras all day, but there is no clip to watch. Wyze really needs to get this fixed ASAP!

I deleted my previous statement, lol. I see its working for me now. Just needed to refresh. Doh!.. ANYWAY…

Cuzman:
I am now seeing the same thing. I get alert of motion and NO clip to see this supposed motion. Something is broken here.

I think we need to do some debuging here…
