Battery Video Doorbell- feel free to CHIME in

I’m not sure what you mean by this:

Does this mean that you’re powering the Battery Video Doorbell with your typical doorbell button wiring (transformer from house current to low-voltage AC)? If so, then what did you have in place there before installing Battery Video Doorbell, and how did you know if someone was pressing the button? I’m trying to better understand your current situation to think of what some options might be.

Yeah, when I look it up in Wyze Shop and on Amazon, it shows out of stock both places. At least on the Wyze site you have the option of that “Notify me when back in stock!” button, so that’s something while you wait.

Cam OG and Cam Pan v3 should work, and that’s what I’ve used. Cam v4 hasn’t yet been made an option for that feature, though other Forum users have requested it, and I’m on board with that. Personally, I think all Wyze doorbell models should receive firmware updates to allow them to act as chimes—if the doorbell can make a “ding-dong” sound at the device when you press the button, then it should be able to receive a signal and make that same sound if someone presses the button on another connected doorbell—and that’s what I noted in one of my links above. I also think that all of their outdoor-specific Cams (at least those that are wired and not battery powered) should have this feature, because I imagine lots of people have things like Bulb Cams or Cam Floodlights in their backyards and might want to be able to hear a doorbell sound if they’re behind the house but someone shows up at the front and rings the doorbell.

That’s a whole other thing, though.

Are you doing that with just the Person Detection Announcements and/or the Package Detection Announcements in the Alexa settings for the device, or are you using Doorbell Press Notifications, or something else? Another thing I’ve done is create a Routine in the Alexa app so that an Echo device will play multiple sounds whenever Battery Video Doorbell’s button is pressed. That would be another way to essentially have a custom chime now while you’re waiting on Wi-Fi Chime to become available, and that’s something I’d be likely to try if you’re not already doing that.

I also wonder if your Battery Video Doorbell has consistent Wi-Fi connectivity and if that has anything to do with the intermittent response you’ve been seeing frome your Alexa device so far.

You’re welcome! I appreciate the feedback. :+1:
