Battery Cam Pro- we are missing one of the waterproof plugs. Is there a way to get one? I contacted Wyze and it is not part of the accessories that can be ordered

Battery Cam Pro- We are missing one of the waterproof plugs. Is there a way to get one? I contacted Wyze and they said it can’t be ordered. However, it was recommended I check on here. Thanks.

Most likely Not a Chance…

Duct Tape maybe

Silicone insulation around the port after you plug in a standard usb-c male plug.

Duck tape.

It was originally made to seal ammo boxes and keep moisture out. Soldiers called it duck tape back then because it was waterproof, like water off a duck’s back.

How about a photo of the plug if you have another camera, or photos of the connector.

Chances are this is not something designed just for Wyze and may be available elsewhere. There is a company that sells a wide variety of electrical parts and pieces but I can’t think,of the name right now.

@TomG - The cable and connector are unique to the Wyze Battery Cam Pro. It is an L shaped usb-c plug that fits into a recessed usb-c port at the base of the battery cam pro.

Mouser and Digikey (MCM has become Newark and doesn’t have as good of a selection) but good luck figuring out what to search for.

If it is the plug in the picture @fmills1d posted, just put some dielectric (silicone) grease around the plug. Just don’t get an on the metal connector or pins. So best to apply it to the rubber/plastic of the male end before plugging it in.

I’m not sure if that is the bottom or top of the cam. If it is the bottom, not really much to worry about.

EDIT - I’m saying that assuming you keep it plugged in, but I guess the cover is for when it isn’t plugged in? In which case don’t fill it with grease.

You can also get a usb-A female to micro usb male to extend the original cable that came with the battery cam pro. Amazon is your best source.

@dave27 - It is at the bottom/base of the battery cam pro.

Eh, not really any concern then unless it is right above something that splashes rain up into that area. If @june.heckel wants to be extra safe, could probably cut a bit of foam rubber weather stripping or any number of other things to put in there when not in use.

That appears to be a USB-C not micro, but same idea. Not sure what you’re suggesting though - if you want more length to a wall charger you’d want an A to A extension (unless that cam uses a unique wall charger)?

@dave27 - There appears to be 2 conversations. Solar panel connection and non- solar panel connection. I have attempted to address both in my 2 different posts. I have BCPs connected in both different connections. Yes, it is usb-c plug to usb-A on the BCP original cable.

Yeah I think the two conversations are totally separate and different OPs? I think your replies just got swapped between the two threads.

I have to make sure I respond to the threads appropriately. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have a plug from my new Battery Cam Pro that I’m not using. I’m planning on connecting it to a solar panel. If you want it send me your email

You can still use the original BCP L plug with the solar panel by using micro-usb female to usb-A female connector/adapter since the BCP cable is usb-A male and the solar panel cable is most likely micro usb male. Especially if the BCP is going to be outside.

I failed to write this solution when I first posted help advise.

@peteg67 - Here are examples of adapters you can use with the original BCP L cable to maintain the waterproof integrity of the port. Amazon search. Singles also show with the search.

That’s the one.
