Battery Cam Pro just stopped detecting and recording - 2025

I just migrated from Nest to Wyze. Was really liking it until after a week of security bliss, my Battery Cam Pro just stopped detecting and recording as of yesterday, I scoured the web for answers and I didn’t find any clear definitive solutions. I have an SD card and it wasn’t recording any detected motion on it either.

What I tried:

  • Powered Off and On
  • Restarted the Camera
  • Reset Services
  • Toggled off and on each setting
    • Detection Settings
    • Everything on Event Recordings Tab
    • same thing for all tabs

For the moment, I turned on “continuous recording via the SD card” but it is draining the battery

The only change prior that I made before it went nonfunctional in regard to recording and detecting was that I changed “Recording Cooldown” from 5 minutes to 1 minute and it was fine. A day later…nada.

Is this a defective camera?
It concerns me and flounders my new found trust for this security system especially after seeing a number of people with the same issues going back a year ago, what more with no definitive fix.
