Audio quality

The sound quality is not good at all for me. On any of the cameras I’ve gotten so far. Is it the app or the camera itself? Any suggestions on what could help? :blush:

The microphone is a tiny little hole in the camera, it isn’t going to be high fidelity. That being said, mine are perfectly fine for making out clear voices even at a decent distance. I guess it depends what you mean by “isn’t good”. Maybe post a clip?

It’s definitely a Wyze camera issue and not the app.

Buried in this forum I did a comparison of V2 to V3’s
Not much improvement.

Was found that the microphone is very directional, likely not by design.


So directional you can hear a leaf drop :rofl:

So unless you’re in the “sweet spot” of the directionality the audio is totally garbage.

And the audio artifacts from high compression also in the audio from Wyze also contributes to poor audio.

I find Reolink’s cameras have excellent audio compared to Wyze cameras.

Later today when I get back home I will do a side by side audio comparison between Wyze & Reolink cams as I have a spot with both next to each other.

I will update this post with the comparison :grin:

Here is the video but Forest Kitty didn’t say anything on it .

Exactly the Wyze cams audio didn’t catch him, now listen to the Reolink’s video and you do hear him.
