It’s sad that people actually believe that someone with $124 billion to give away as charity somehow need and require $100 to send it to you. :joy:

One of the first things I thought of when I read that is Nadja’s remarks about that name on What We Do in the Shadows, but I’m not sharing a video link out of respect for the Community Guidelines.

My thoughts exactly. Why wouldn’t they just take it out of the amount they were going to send? A little bit of the smallest critical thinking goes a long way.

Speaking of famous similar scams…I recently befriended a REAL Nigerian prince and he has explained to me a ton about their culture there. Interestingly, their culture is made up of a bunch of different tribes with a bunch of different royal lines (and lots of princes in reach tribe) and complex cultures. It’s like if interesting how their nation’s tribalism is less about political ideology than it is real tribalism fighting for power in elections. So old “Nigerian prince” scam isn’t a completely made up premise, but a little critical thinking about giving them money or your bank info is obvious nonsense.

Oh, but that would require effort and faith in this statement!

My understanding of Somali culture is that it’s also clan-based and that even immigrants living here in the United States continue to have conflicts with other Somalis outside their home clans and sub-clans.
