I am having issues with the Favorites Tab view. The top camera view has a small section of the camera view that is just below it.
I reported that in my Pixel tablet as well. However, the Pixel tablet and maybe the Galaxy Tab has a setting in App Info area for experimental resolution. If you change that, the issue may go away, but it will be right justified. At least mine is.
This happens in Landscape Mode and not portrait, at least on mine.
Where exactly are we supposed to report these issues. There bug reporting seems very unintuitive. I also signed up for the beta which seems to be the worst beta project I have ever used. It is also very unintuitive. there is no confirmation of my reports and they all go unanswered.
With that said… can you clarify what app info area you found the experimental resolution under? Do you mean the android settings → app → app info ? If so I have nothing there on my tablet or my pixel 7 pro.
It seems a bit ridiculous that there is this significant of a bug on 2 major tablet brands. Although for some reason Wyze has always had issues when displaying on any of my tablets, where other apps seem to have no issues. They just do not seem to care …
Which Wyze app version are you running in your screenshot?
3.0.0.519
Side question… I do not seem to be receiving any notifications of new posts to this thread. I have “Watching” selected. Where are the notifications supposed appear?
Thanks, Rich…
To see if your device has the option, here is what you can do:
-
Long Press on the App Icon and Select App Info
-
Scroll Down in the App Info location and select Aspect Ration (Experimental)
-
Then Scroll through each option to get the best presentation you would like.
The biggest issue is that the Wyze app, regardless of version, does not currently support native landscape viewing of the Home page. Combine that with Samsung’s One UI attempt to Windows-ize views for Tab S8 and it’s a nightmare. I don’t have an S8, but I do have an S9+ and don’t have this issue. All of my Samsung tablets and phones display the Home page in portrait orientation regardless of device’s physical orientation. I can simulate user’s issue by forcing landscape for all views via developer mode options though.
Just updated to 3.0.5.558 and the issue still persists…
Unfortunately I do not have that category on either my tablet or my pixel 7 pro…
100% agree, I posted about that and the issue @ricpdjrr indicated above. So far there has been no update. This over lap of the image needs to be corrected. But in the interim, if you the Aspect Ratio is available, you can at least get it to look better, but not full width.
what is also interesting is the fact that cameras in a group will display correctly when you open the group and in Landscape Mode.
On all of my devices, in portrait, I am ok. So removing the setting to show in Full Screen and go back to App Default corrects the issue. Just cannot take real advantage of Landscape on a tablet then. The image is portrait presentation, but aligned to the far right.
The issue is that we’re trying to provide workarounds for app display rendering anomalies to compensate for the fact that the most of the app pages aren’t designed to be viewed in landscape. I let the app drive orientation as designed via Android settings > Advanced Features > Labs > Auto rotate apps > Wyze > App default. But that will perturb tablet users who wish to view the Home page in landscape because the Home page will display sideways/portrait. Wyze is not going to fix this user’s issue as it stands because the Home page isn’t designed for landscape viewing. I just live with it until Wyze finishes their landscape efforts.
Ahh… well that explains a lot. How could they not prioritize supporting That’s simple basic Android view. The new Home view is terrible in my opinion. You would just need to check out “Tiny Cam” to see A very user friendly set up.
- Options for cameras per page.
- support for landscape view.
- Picture in picture feature.
- ect…ect…ect
Hmmmmm…
The landscape view has been an option since the beginnings of Android.
The wyze app has been out for several years at least…
Does not seem to be much effort involved here…
One of the oldest and hottest wishlist topics. It’s currently in In Progress testing status:
I signed up for the beta to hopefully be able to give useful feedback to help the developers fix bugs.
After reading that post from 2018 it is obvious the management has no interest in user input or keeping their app updated to basic Android standards.
I will just go back to finding Alternatives to the Wyze app instead of wasting my time and efforts as all of those poor 665 users have been doing since 2018…
What a joke… (not so funny joke)…
Just my humble opinion…
Shame on me for letting them fool me twice…
I forgot 2 years ago I had added my support to this feature request from 2018 as well. Seems like a no brainer and fairly easy to implement However it has fallen upon deaf ears as well…
