I have seen a potpourri of issues. I have a motion sensor that works like a Swiss clock turn on and off my hall way light. But just 8 feet a way a bath room motion sensor fails to fire or clear and never interfaces reliably with Alexa. In the same room the door sensor runs and turns lights on when you open the door. Off when closed. No ideal if it you trying to get some private time on the throne. I have front door sensor that will never show closed but with show each time I open it. I have other sensor that just failed to connect to the bridge.
As they say in the movie, son What we have here is failure to communicate.
I am going to put my money on quality control. If you compare they same sensor of other brands you will spend at least $10 more for the equivalent item. Wyze is so anxious to trim the price they are producing substandard products. Its time for them to do a better job of real testing and not free beta trials.
Do any of the problem sensors occasionally show only 1 bar of signal? I have seen issues with sensor status getting stuck when the signal is low and the status updating properly when the signal becomes better (a door between bridge and sensor opens).
My bridge camera use to be mounted in my garage on the left side of my fuse box. I had sensors maybe 20 feet away through two walls (1-2 bars signal) that would sometimes get stuck (the signal may have been getting blocked by the wiring in the wall). I moved the bridge camera two feet to the right so that it was on the right side of the fuse box and my sensor signal went from 1-2 bars to a solid 3 and reliability has been solid. Also I have found the bridge to be the most reliable in a V2 running 4.9.5.111 firmware. I am currently using 4.9.6.144 in my bridge cam and it has been fine so far but have not been using it for that long.
They’re unreliable, no matter how you cut it. You get lucky, you get a bridge that works, they’re close enough to work, and your sensors all have the Rev B TI CC1310 MCU that doesn’t lock up on battery changes. Looks like it’ll take another gen or two for Wyze to fix all the bugs.
Yes they are unreliable, they now only work on the 13 second event which is better than nothing and that seems reliable, but the live view and extended event viewing with the SD card doesn’t work.
My second purched sensor bridge would not connect to contact sensors. Recieved replacement bridge worked fine for awhile on a pan cam 16 ft away but began experiencing disconnect issues. Moved to wyze cam further away and so far no issues. I also have discovered I need to reset the wyze app many times to maintain connection to the wyze band and other connected devices. Other than these issues, all is well.
Can you obtain this version on Google Play. None of my cameras work on live view, all I get is 4 seconds of live video and then a current still image, the SD cards also do not work. The only thing that is reliable is the 12 second event video.
