it only works on the playback screen on my Android 12 Samsung. All the other screens are still brilliant white
I’ve checked tried it on my s20 (android 11) and s21 (android 12) and it’s working just fine for me. Not sure what the issue could be.
It appears to not longer be available in android 8 though
Can someone who develops software please inform us… Is it REALLY that difficult to implement Dark Mode into the app? Or is WYZE just lazy? So much empty space on the app that’s voided, it’s like you’re getting flashbanged every time you open the app.
How can these devs work day in and day out with the app and not advocate for a simple Dark Mode option to be added?!

Also, can they change the font color and backgrounds to be of better contrast? Reading white letters on a light background is difficult and poor quality control. This design flaw and no dark mode are my only complaints that haven’t been resolved in all the years I have been a member on this forum.

If it possible to bump up the release date of the Wyze portable solar panels?
I’d like to plug it into my phone at night when sleeping, that way when I open the app I can point the screen at the panel to recover the energy from the blinding light that is produced (it seems programmed to imitate the sun in the wee hours, likely to stave off seasonal depression for those that use the app in the Arctic. For some reason the geo location isn’t working to dial down said blinding light for those of us south of Canada).
In any case, I feel that since dark mode is as likely as a Community movie or all of the original cast coming back to the Firefly reboot on Disney ,that we should recoup the lost energy that pours out when using the app at night.
It’s bright enough that it could also create a perpetual motion situation, which would get the Nobel Prize committee’s attention, which would then boost sales. So there is a business purpose for the request as well…

Yes how can they kustify digging a deeper hole adding new modules and updates that necer address the key deficiencies. They’re imexpensive gambling that imexpensive hardware woll keep us captive, yet WITH A FULLY FUNCTIOAL UP TO MODERN SPECS THEY CAN EASILY CHARGE A LITTLE MORE FOR HARDWARE TO OFFSET DEVELOPER COST.
What I really really want to do, is to take all my Wyze cams, put them into a blender, grind them up into a fine powder and flush them down a toilet. THAT would at least give me some satisfaction.

I found a setting in my phone to force apps into dark mode. Highly recommend googling to see if you can do it on your phone. So much nicer. I have an Android, for reference.
No but a gazzilion new modules of code written for a myriad of new products.
My neighbor is envious of my cams and wants me to set her up with 5 or 6.
I told her she cant observe them on her laptop, only her phone, and shed have to buy a new iPad if she wanted these to work.
She was shocked.
She has me looking for another brand that will work on everything

My phone you can manually turn it on in single apps. It does give a disclaimer that the app may not work correctly, but I have had no issues with Wyze… Had it on for a week or two.
Last time I tried the workaround in developer settings, my menu showed black text on a black background. That or either it was a dark menu. I couldn’t actually see the text.
