The app controls (especially the Mic and Speaker icons) have changed from teal to white. They are no longer visible to me on the app. The teal color was easily recognizable. Please change the color back to its original teal color or another bold color like solid green or red. Perhaps, you could give us an option to choose whichever color we want or give us a few to choose from. A larger size would also be helpful. Thanks

Are you describing a Cam v3 UI change or something else? If this is a recent app change, then posting to the Wyze News category in whatever topic corresponds to the app version where you noticed the change might be a better way to get visibility on this issue. Since someone from Wyze initiates those topics, that might be a better way to have your comments seen.
For whatever it’s worth, I don’t want a teal option or any specific color that I have to choose, because that’s potentially problematic depending on which camera is viewing what scene at a given time. I’ve said for a long time and in multiple places (including in this very recent topic) that they need to globally increase the use of contrast and contrasting colors throughout the app’s UI so that elements are visible no matter what a camera is viewing and no matter whether a user has selected to use a light or dark theme within the app’s settings.
Thanks, and yes, it is with the v3 cameras change to the user interface. My icons are completely washed out by the bright light in the room on camera to the point where the white icon is not visible. A solid bright color would stand out regardless of whatever color the screen is. I found this at the link you provided:
- And, while I am requesting UI stuff…it would be nice if the buttons on camera mode could be made transparent or non-transparent. The icons are constantly getting lost on light or dark backgrounds.
Yeah, I still don’t know what that other user meant about “transparent or non-transparent”, and I said as much in that topic. ![]()
For me, the issue is less about a specific color and more about contrast. Depending on what a camera is looking at, even the big “play” triangle can be completely lost on a sunny day. Transparency won’t help with that at all, but I believe that adding a background in a contrasting color (even a semi-transparent background in black or grey) would at least make the on-screen control elements stand out from whatever is in a camera’s view (or whatever was in view whenever a given snapshot was captured[1]). Wyze doesn’t really seem to take accessibility standards into account, and that frequently disappoints me.
I’d still suggest posting to that first topic I linked above, because that’s specific to the Cam v3 UI changes in the app, and it appears that the survey linked in the initial post there is still active.
I mention this because I almost always have Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Autoplay Video Live Streams toggled off, so I typically see a still snapshot on an individual Cam in Favorites with the big play button. ↩︎
