THANK YOU!!
I wanted the greater built in memory and additional screen real estate so I ended up going with an Amazon Fire refurb 10" 32Gb.
Now I need to figure out the freakin file system
Side loaded the Wyze app, no problem
A better file manager helps.
Most like ES File Explorer. I prefer Astro File Manager.
I had been using ES for about 5 years, their last upgrade is terrible.
Well for MY purposes the Amazon Fire 10 32GB refurb has fit the bill.
The problems with my Samsung J3 16GB were limited screen real estate and limited memory.
The way Wyze mandates doing Time Lapse and downloading to the Android device meant my 8 hour Time Lapses were filling the J3, or bombing out.
And the screen was limiting.
I’ve now loaded Wyze cam and Tiny Cam on the Fire10 and created a number of Time Lapse vids.
Now new problems arise - naming conventions, best ways to transfer files, etc.
And I’m pretty sure the Wyze Team is working on the problems.
But for right now the Amazon Fire Tablet 10 is a pretty good value for the dollar (or $120).
On Amazon, the Galaxy Tab A 10 inch dropped from 201.99 to 183 plus a free $50 gift card.
After looking over the specs I bought one.
I still have my 10" cheap (seemed cheep at begging of this year) android tablet. The only issue it’s 30secs behind the live stream. That’s fine the notifications are that much at least on the phone.
On recommendations from this thread though early black Friday deals saw $50 Fire HD8 tablet. I bought 3 now. Side loading the google store these tables are fast and reliable as a preview/monitor tothe cameras. Almost wish I splurged on on one of the black friday $100 fire HD 10 though. Love the fire tables I use them to run several android apps when I’m not usingthem as a dedicated Wyze monitor.
Can’t get the app to even open on my galaxy view 2, crashes immediately. works perfect for the note 10 and tab 8.
Refurb fire HD 10’s are routinely about $110.
