Google Play Store is notifying beta 2.29.0 (110) users to update to production hotfix 2.28.2 (111).
I’m comparing current Android production hotfix 2.28.2 (111) to current Android Beta 2.29.0 (110) and I don’t see the current beta fixes in production hotfix 2.28.2 (111). That means if beta users update to the hotfix, they won’t be able to test the current beta features, making this a downgrade.
The problem addressed by this hotfix is not inherent in the current Android beta app.
Yes, I’m 100% sure! I know it’s a bit confusing but development of these two branches is happening in parallel and hasn’t seen a merge in either direction yet until we send out the next 2.29 beta update. This means all of the fixes done after 2.28.0 (that’d be 2.28.1’s updates primarily since 2.28.2 was only intended to fix the new crashing bug) are missing from 2.29.
So, if you’re on 2.29 beta, it’s best to not to be on this current beta build when the cloud storage changes roll back out. If you update now, you’ll be updated “backwards” to 2.28.2, but believe me when the cloud storage changes roll out that will be a better experience than being on the current beta build.
We’re aiming to get the next update out ASAP so you can have all of the beta updates and all of the fixes at once, so keep an eye out for additional updates in the next few days. If you run into issues, please know that either way they will be fixed when you update your beta app off of the current build.
It’s so nice to be able to view Events again, it works fine on multiple devices.
Of course, now none of my cameras will load Live Feed on any device, they just keep trying to connect. And yes, I’ve tried all the reboots, stop app, etc. It’s the same problem I had a week ago that just fixed itself after 36 hours.
It’s not wifi/network related; events all upload and alert fine.
The quality and relibility have just tanked as time goes on with Wyze, But they sure do have a bunch of new products available!
For the record, the update didn’t show available for my phone until sometime between 12AM-430AM Eastern. Maybe slow the roll on urgent push notifications so you don’t fire off urgent to do’s that aren’t yet possible for everyone. I have to assume it takes some time to push the update out across the entire play store.
Yes slow the roll. Another OP got the push to update yesterday and the app store gave their tablet 2.28.1.109 (from 2.28.0.102) because Hotfix.111 hasn’t reached that far yet.
OUCH. Need to take it to the body shop after all the crashes.
My phone is currently on 2.28.0 and works just fine, except it wants me to update to the broken app. My tablet has the broken app and still doesn’t have the new spp available. Maybe you should hold off the urgent cloud update until everyone can get the hotfix!
Is there any possibility or providing a side load so we dont have to wait for the play store to eventually catch up?
Hi, yes that version was the one with the crash bug on specific tablets, but being on that version or higher will include the necessary fixes for Cam Plus Lite and still photo events.
