I went to my Wyze App this July 21 morning and the Beta for v3 was replaces with the v2 App. And Playstore only has the v2 App Version.
This happened to a few people for some reason. Wyze released a hotfix for the V2.5 app at the same time they released a new Release Candidate Beta for the V3.0 app When they did that, for some reason it forced some people to get the V2 hotfix instead of the V3 beta. We’re not sure why this is the case, but it happened to lots of people, it’s not just you. I am one of the people who got the new V3 release candidate. I’m not sure why I got that and you got the V2 but it happened to a lot of people. Really weird.
Any idea how shunted beta users can jump back in to Android: 3.0.0.b514 or iOS : 3.0.0(11) beta RC apps?
Sadly, no.
On the Android side, I kept hoping that APK Mirror would post a copy, but they never did. If they do, then people can load that, and they’ll still stay on the Google Play Store update tract, but it never got copied, so that option is out this time.
Wyze has told us people being left out of updates is normal. With every app release, they hold back a little more than the required minimum number of users from the new update because The Play store requires this in order to maintain the option to roll back an app update if there is an issue, so they basically just always do it. But it feels like this is more people than normal.
As for iOS, I am not extremely experienced with App store vs Test Flight, but I would assume that if you use the App Store you’ll get the 2.5 Version and if you use Test Flight you’ll get the 3.0 version of the app. If that’s not happening, I have no idea why. I only pull out my iPhone in extreme situations to help other people because it drives me nuts to use it.
I checked on my iPad and their App store has v2.50.9.1 and the TestFlight has the beta v3.0.0 (11). iOS users should have no problem jumping back and forth between stable and beta app release.
I can confirm that this is correct, at least for myself. No issue going back and forth on both iPhone and iPad.
Oh come on, where is your sense of adventure?
