Adjusting/setting color on Wyze color bulb

I purchased 12 bulbs from Wyze, and really wanted to love these bulbs. Cameras are fantastic.

I started with Sengled bulbs, which work well, but after about 8 years they’ve had to be replaced twice. With such seamless interaction with the Wyze cameras, I had hoped that the bulbs were of the same caliber.

They are easy to get into network, but seemingly impossible to get the color I want. Of the 12, one is the color I want, and the other 11 are green. Seems no matter what I do to them, they still appear green. Deleted/re-added…nothing. I am just trying to set them to a bright, cool white color as a default setting.

App ver 3.2.7.(1)
Firmware ver 1.0.2.51

Thank you in advance.

On my bulbs, I use Google Assistant by voice to set kelvin temp to 6500K.

Welcome to the Forum, @tomastomba!

Would you be willing to share a comparison photo, say the one displaying the color you want beside one that isn’t doing what you expect? Also some details about what you’re trying to do in the app to set colors/color temperature might be helpful.

Are you grouping any of the bulbs, and have you tried to set everything in the group to the same color?

I have one Wyze Bulb Color that got flaky on me with inconsistent Wi-Fi connectivity, and eventually at least some of the LEDs seemed to fail, so Wyze replaced it. The bulb got to a point where the only colors it’s capable of displaying—even when I ask for different temperatures of white—are in the blue-green part of the spectrum. I don’t think that’s happening to 11/12 of your bulbs, though, so sharing some more detail might help others here in assisting you.

Not sure if picture came through. No matter what I do to the rest are always green.

I have tried temperature adjustments and color adjustments. When setting by color, it only seems to change at the outside of the color wheel.

I appreciate your sharing the photo, and I can see the greenish hue from two of the bulbs.

Are all of the green bulbs installed in the same enclosure type? Have you tried moving the bulbs to different lamp sockets? I wouldn’t expect that to be the issue, but I’m trying to think of variables to eliminate.

When you try to adjust color using the wheel, does the setting circle (or wherever you were placing your finger) always snap to the wheel’s outer edge? Is that what you’re saying? That’s not what I experience in the Android app, and I wonder if what you’re describing is an app issue.

What happens if you delete the app cache and log back in to refresh your account settings and/or if you uninstall/reinstall the app?

This is how I would get a clean copy of my account profile/settings on Android (click/tap to expand):
  1. Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
  2. Navigate back one screen to Account and tap Log Out at the bottom.
  3. Swipe the Wyze app out of the running Android apps.
  4. Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (on the phone’s home screen or wherever you tap to initially open the app) and then tap App info in the pop-up menu.
  5. Tap Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm) and then tap Storage & cache.
  6. Tap Clear cache and Clear storage on the Storage screen.
  7. Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap Open and proceed to log back into your Wyze account/app. (Optionally reboot the phone at this step for good measure and then launch the Wyze app after the fresh boot instead of relaunching it immediately from this screen.)

Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform.
