5g wifi V3 and V2 cameras not working

I have recently changed to a 5g wifi and my V3 and V2 cameras will not connect. Other than buying new cameras what are my options?

Welcome to the Forum, @luvernm!

What details can you share about your network and any troubleshooting you’ve already attempted? Are you talking about 5G as in mobile data, like you’re now using a cellular service provider’s device as your new Internet gateway, or are you having an issue with 5 GHz vs. 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi? What—exactly—changed with your network situation? What happens with your Cams if you set your router’s/gateway’s 2.4 GHz SSID and password to the same thing you were using before?

Welcome @luvernm

Those cameras will only connect on 2.4Ghz. Depending on the type of router, they should connect to a Mesh network. However, if you still have issues, make sure your 2.4 Ghz is separate from the 5G network.

Some routers allow for an IoT network which can be set to 2.4 Ghz as well

Note: I have used TP-Link and ASUS mesh routers without issues connecting to the Wyze Products

As already mentioned, neither model supports 5ghz. I’ve yet to see a standard home router that does not support 2.4ghz, you probably just need to enable it.

Your other options are to get a cheap 2.4ghz AP and hang it off your router, or replace your cams with one of the few models that support 5ghz - but the range on 5ghz is much less than 2.4.
