2019 Bulbs no longer connect to WiFi

I recently had to set up a new Wi-Fi network at my house. I have three V1 wyze bulbs that have worked fairly well for 6 years up to this point. However, I can no longer pair them with Wi-Fi. I run through the entire Wi-Fi setup where I connect to my wifi, then to the bulb itself, then name it. But when I press the finish button at the end ofsetup, the bulb is immediately marked as offline and it never comes online. I’ve tried set up a handful of times and even with different routers, all 2.4 GHz.

I’m convinced that there’s some sort of problem with the version of the bulbs or the app. I doubt it’s a hardware issue because all three bulbs suddenly don’t work Does anyone have any suggestions?

Search the forum…this is a known issue.

After researching the forums and spending 20 minutes on the phone with Wyze support, I’ve come to the conclusion that the latest firmware update broke the bulbs’ wireless functionality and the bulbs are basically no longer “smart”. On the call, Wyze couldn’t resolve the problem, and kept reminding me that the product is discontinued and out of warranty.

I definitely won’t be buying any more of their products after seeing how they support their existing ones.

The 2019 v2 bulbs definitely encountered issues. They were relatively cheap. I took my chances.

Someone gifted me that latest Wyze bulbs and they seem fine. Just before the gift, I bought two Kasa bulbs. They seem to be reliable.
