2 V4 cams stopped recording events to cloud

HI New here to Wyze , i have put two camera to monitor two terrariums at night under IR b/w with spiders in them. The app was recording events which were appearing in the cloud but since the end of 20th Sept it hasnt recorded or sent any videos to the cloud . Any suggestions what is wrong??

I initially signed up for a free trial for one v4 cam but have since bought another and upgraded the cam plus for 2 cams. The subscription for the one cam i cancelled in google play is showing still but expiring on the 17th OCT and i assigned both cameras to the new subscription for 2 cams.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Forum, @bob24!

What did Support say when you contacted them? Based on what you’ve written so far, I’m not sure if I have a good handle on the situation. It seems like you’re saying that you should now have two different Cam Plus subscriptions (one for each of your two Cam v4s), but I’m not sure if they’re both active or if you still have one camera operating on a trial subscription.

This is the other part that concerns me a bit:

Purchasing Wyze subscriptions through third-party sources (i.e., using the app to buy via Google Play Store or Apple App Store) can be problematic, and Wyze Support might have some difficulty straightening this out. If you poke around some in the Forum, I think you’ll see a general consensus recommending that any subscriptions be purchased directly from Wyze via their Web site. Still, I think I’d contact them for guidance and possible resolution.

What do you see for subscription status in Wyze Web Portal and in the Wyze app (at  Account âžś Services)? If you’re using Cam Plus and have individual per-camera subscriptions (in contrast with Cam Unlimited that is one subscription for multiple cameras), then are you sure the subscriptions are actually assigned to your cameras?

I’m not suggesting the OP do this yet, because I don’t know if it will work for sure.

Verify and reassign subscription licenses in the web portal: Go to my.wyze.com in a browser.

Confirm both cameras show as assigned to your new two cam subscription.

If not, reassign them as needed.

Log out of the app, maybe restart phone, log back in and check assignments in the app.

Logging out “should” retain all settings and maybe pick up the new cloud settings.

This has supposedly resolved sudden recording stops for many after upgrades or cancellations.

If they’re already reassigned at Wyze, maybe just logging out of the app and back in will fix it.

I won’t even mention hard resets or other options yet.

It sounds like they got reassigned but perhaps not in the app since it still stuck to Google.

Do you still have to check them off in the app also? Don’t remember.

First and by far easiest thing to try would be to go into that particular camera’s settings page, Scroll down to the bottom and hit the Reset Services button. You’ll get a notification saying that it was successful after it tells you exactly what that button does when you hit yes, See if that works. Actively test it to see if it’s recording past that point and if it is you should be good. But that is the easiest quickest and first thing I would try

I searched that up and it sounds like the recommended SOP for the issues the OP has.

Vs my convoluted recommendation. :joy:

Oh. Duh. :man_facepalming:

As I was reading @G2740’s reply above this, I was thinking, “This seems like a lot of effort when it would be easier to just hit the Reset Services button.” I was going to mention that if someone else hadn’t already. That’s definitely the easiest thing to try as a first step. :+1:

@bob24, definitely try @Bam’s suggestion first if you haven’t already done that. Afterward, you may also want to double-check your settings (especially detections and notifications), because sometimes resetting the services will select things you may not want.

5S, the shortest way to get there is best.

I went around the block for a jog. Learned something also, Reset Services.

5S lost a lot jobs at my former small business employer. Lol.

Now they’re on the verge of collapse too.

Happily retired!

I’m too old to worry about it.

Thanks for all the replies . I tried alsorts of combination and nothing worked but after closing the app and leaving the cams disconnected over night ,in the morning everything appears to be working again. I did try the reseting services etc… before doing this and didnt make any difference. So now everything seems alright for now.

It is still saying subscription for 3 cameras when i only have 2 which are both assigned to the new 2 cam plus subscription. See screen shot. The previous subscription i assume should disappeaar after the 17th oct.

I think as long as your cameras are on the right subscriptions all will be ok.

The free trial or Google subscription will continue until it done and runs out, I think you said October 17th or around there?

Many Wyze cams I bought in the past came with a free trial, which I typically opted out during setup, but sometimes missed or the opt out was hoaky and still ended up with a subscription.

Since it didn’t matter which one it was on, I’d login my wyze and cancel them, they continued to work until they ran out.

As someone above mentioned, it’s best thru Wyze.

I have a about 15 Wyze cams and Cam Unlimited. Up to 99 cameras for $99 per year or was.

Once you reach about 3 or 4 cams, it the best deal probably.

Unless spiders need darkness, if you want color add some light, a smart bulb or something and turn off IR.

When they get the bug fixed for V4 Timelapse, it works in Beta, then you can run timelapses as well.

The spiders i keep are mainly noctural so there is no sign of them during the day, when it gets dark they wander around all night. They dont like any light ,so i had to put tape over the spotlights as they had a habit of occasionally coming on. I have taken both cams apart to allow adjustable close focus which is working well.

Im in the UK as well so the subscriptions that appear in the app are in dollars and in the UK despite it stating 99 dollars for camunlimited it is more expensive for us,it doesnt display the prices for UK owners until you go to pay.

The V4 cam are also 80 dollars equivalent here for one!!
