2.44 Release Candidate App Beta Test 7/24/2023

I am in the Beta Tester pool and do get the Beta App Updates in my Google Play Store, however I do not install and test the Android Betas unless it is mission critical. Because I run extensive push notification macros on my phone, installing the Beta App has some unintended side effects because it changes the name of the app for the push notification channels. Some operate OK because they are rooted in the registry ID for the app, but others looking for a push notification from Wyze won’t fire when a push notification comes in from WyzeBeta. I am still on the Production App eagerly awaiting the next Production update.

Whenever scrolling through events in the Android app, if I scroll far enough that it loads earlier events, then i watch an event video, when i return to the event list any videos that had loaded from an earlier time disappear and i have to scroll down to have them reload. So if i had scrolled all the way to the beginning of the day, i would then need to scroll, load, scroll, load repeatedly until i watch an event video, then i would have to repeat. This just started happening in this last beta.

Setting up some cams for remote deployment today and got this after unplugging one:

Edit: Looks like “device offline reminder” is working for v3Pro also: :+1:

Experienced a minor bug in the Beta App Rules Engine. Wondering if it can be reproduced and confirmed.

Set a rule using a Wyze Color Bulbs Group as an action “Turn On” and saved the rule. Then went back and edited the action, changing it to “Turn Off”. The “Turn On” option then was automatically unchecked, greyed out, and was unavailable:

However, saving that setting kept the “Turn On” action along with the new “Turn Off” action:

Going back in to edit the action, I uncheck the “Turn Off”, and the “Turn On” reappears checked. In order to change this, I have to uncheck the “Turn On” and then check the “Turn Off”.

If one is selected, the other should automatically uncheck. It should not be entering conflicting actions and shouldn’t be showing an unchecked box when the action is still active.

Can you elaborate on these features in Beta to be coming to release at some point ?

The main features added that are being tested are usually listed in the first post. I haven’t found any Easter Eggs yet but some have experienced the addition of offline cam notifications.

Are you able to post a picture of what the “PIP feature added to the FLP” feature looks like in a screenshot so we get an idea of what’s coming?

That screenshot is in my post that you quoted. #24 above.

On Android, it minimizes the app, enables the PIP overlay permission for the Wyze App in the Android Settings, and streams the FLP in the overlay PIP. The PIP can be moved about the screen, but it remains on top and you can use other apps and navigate around the OS. You can only PIP one cam. When you open the app again, it removes the PIP and returns to the App. In my case, since the FLP is in a group, that’s where it goes back to.

Android Beta App. Hoping an Android tester can replicate and confirm.

After viewing an Event video, or scrolling thru viewing of several Event videos, from lower on the event list (scrolled down and loaded more events to view), when selecting the Back button or using the Android Back swipe gesture, the Events list does not return to the point at which it was previously positioned when a video was first selected or to the Event video thumbnail that was actively playing when back was pressed. It resets to event thumbnails higher on the list requiring rescrolling down and pulling up for more thumbnails to load to get back to that point.

I can confirm this behavior as well. It goes back to the top bunch requiring you to push up to get more videos like the one I looked at.

Thank you very much.” …Latka Gravas accent included.

I have been having generally good performance on iOS but every time “low power mode” is enabled, the Wyze App is pretty much unusable. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this?

Cyberdog, I’m on my iPhone right now, and I put it in “low power mode” to see if I get the performance issue that you are. I don’t use low power mode so I wouldn’t have noticed an issue, but I’ll keep it in low mode power mode just to see if it causes a performance issue. Does not seem to be a problem so far……tlhutch4

Anyone having issues sharing cameras to someone new?

I get a dialog box with “Internet Connection Issue. Please try again when internet is connected”

Not… not an issue on 4 devices

Also red banner at top that says “Failed to load hms service”

This is on IOS 16.6 on an iPhone 14

Wyze 2.44.0 (4)

I also have Cam Plus Unlimited Camera Annual Plan

Interesting I get hms error as I don’t subscribe to the Home Monitoring Service.

WOW!

Something changed from the Beta!

The ability to group the doorbells with other cams was great. The only downside I saw was that the tile was the same size as the other cams so it squished the doorbell image a bit and also cropped it. It was a bit distorted.

I just opened the Production Release App, opened the group, and BAM!

The doorbell is HUGE compared to the other tiles. Takes up the whole screen.

Must be an IOS issue as I got it to work on one of my Android devices and even rolled back to release app on IOS to see if that addressed it which it did not. Same behavior on all of my IOS devices.
