2.4 vs 5.0 mesh router question

Currently, I have my PCs on my home network configured to be discoverable. If I set up the mesh routers to treat the 2.4 and 5.0 networks to have the same name and one PC is on the 2.4 Mhz network while the other is on the 5.0 Mhz network; will the two PCs see each other?

Yes they should see each other regardless of the split network option because it’s the same network

As @IEatBeans stated, you will have no problem at all. I have mine setup this way and the connecting devices will connect at either 5 or 2.4 and will be able to see each other.

The beauty of having a Mesh network with multiple bands (up to 3 with Tri-Band 6E), is that the router is equipped with Smart Switching. The router takes care of all the heavy lifting by creating one cohesive network with devices on different bands that can communicate with all the other devices and allows capable devices to jump bands as needed without any noticable loss in connectivity.

Slab, thank you. That answers my question. I know on my current linksys router, they can’t. So to go further, If my printer on on the 2.4 Mhz network, then I’ll be able to print from a computer or iPhone on the 5 Mhz network; which is something I cant do now.

Yes you will be able to.

Not sure how that is set up. If they are set to separate SSID networks, each band would be isolated into it’s own secure network with its own SSID and PW. Mesh routers do have that capability if you choose to set it up that way, but it defeats the technology available. When you have all the networks on one SSID and PW, the router decides all the band switching and considers every band as a part of the single secured network.
