Wyze Router Pro broadcast multiple SSIDs?

Hi, all I’m hoping for some clarification about the abilities of the Mesh Pro router. I picked one up for my cousin but haven’t set it up yet and I’m wondering if it has the ability to broadcast multiple SSIDs to isolate certain devices to a different SSID. For example, I have an Omada setup at my house and I have two networks that are broadcast, one is called MAG.NET and the other is MAG.IoT and I isolate things like Wyze cameras on the IoT network. I was wondering if something like that is possible on the Router Pro? Kind of like the main SSID and then a separate Guest network but would like to name the SSID and possibly lock it down a bit.

Welcome @rmsilver7

If I understand you correctly, you are asking for different SSID’s per band. The answer is Yes, you have to indicate if you are using the devices as a true Mesh Network or provide individual SSID’s per band: SSID_5G, SSID_24, etc. However, by doing this, you will need to pick the correct SSID you want to connect to when setting things up.

If you don’t select the correct option during setup, you will need to go through the setup process again as you cannot change this once the Routers are up and running.

I am sure others may chime in and provide there thoughts as well.

Actually, no, not per band, I’m looking for two completely separate SSIDs that have all bands.

The answer would be No then. you would set it up as a Mesh and one SSID. The Router and Device will decide which Band to connect to.

If you don’t set it up as a Mesh, then you will need to provide individual SSIDs per Band. As far as I know, not many routers offers multiple SSID for a MESH Network. You would have to utilize VLans or something of that Nature. Some of the High End Routers may offer this as an option.
