Omg why is it that teams who redesign apps are chosen based on their complete disconnection to reality and disregard for a proven loyal customer base???
They NEVER put any thought into a new app and give absolutely ZERO thought to any old functionality that might be core and critical.
So in the new app, I cannot toggle a camera on or off like before by pressing an icon.
I also don’t get to see my cameras and must now dive into submenus when they were front and center before.
I have worked as a developer for 40 years. The quality of the current generation of developers is SUB STANDARD. None of them think at all and instead choose the easy path to just gut an old app and start over.
EPIC fail on new app. If I were CEO of Wyze the entire team would be seeking new employment now.

You can, in the upper right of the camera image there is a large icon to turn it on/off
You can put them front and center by going into the ‘Devices’ list and tapping on the star which will add them to the ‘Favorites’ list and show them on the initial page.

Negative… before I had an on/off icon for each camera listed on the dashboard. Now I have a gold star if it’s a favorite. Or a grey star if it’s not. Clearly you never used the old app before… I should NOT have to “load” a camera to turn it on or off.
Also, when it’s in a group… again no way to turn them on or off.
I SHOULD NOT NEED A “FAVORITES” DASHBOARD… ALL CAMERAS ARE IMPORTANT AND DEPLOYED FOR A REASON… WHAT BRAINIAC THINKS THAT SOME CAMS ARE “FAVORITES” OVER OTHERS??? IF CAMS WERE THAT IMPORTANT BEFORE, WE COULD PUT THEM INTO A GROUP CALLED “FAVORITES”, KEEP IT AT THE TOP, AND IT WORKED MUCH BETTER.
Before: on/off with a simple press from the dashboard.
Now: there is NO on/off button on the dashboard. opening a camera… there is no on/off button on the cam image either (I’m looking at it RIGHT NOW and see no such “large button”). good luck, maybe buy a smart-plug from another company to turn your cameras on/off from ONE location, quickly and easily.
And the prior version displayed cameras in a logical and intuitive manner. The new version?
As someone who has used your ecosystem FROM DAY ONE, I do not use the “favorites” in your new app. I go straight to the DEVICES list which is closest to how your old app worked. I’m not interested in any “favorites” tab which auto-loads or wastes screen space on my phone.
I need to see a LIST of cams and devices and can choose what I want to open, thank you very much…
I was talking about the favorites page, that was where the icon I was referring to would be. You are correct on the devices page you would need to click into it to turn it off. If you gold star it as a favorite it will be on the favorites page and an icon for on/off will show on the favorites page.
I have used all the old versions of the app and know them inside and out.

I am totaly disappointed in this app. It has rendered my cameras useless. I had my cameras in logical groups so I could just look at those groups. Now you can not search the groups or view them. I going to give it a few weeks to see if they change it back before I make any more camera purchases. As this is as bad as when another camera vendor forced you to pay to do anything with there cameras. All those cameras are useless now. Might have to spend more money and put Panasonic cams on my network as I totaly control them. I used to love wyze but am totaly bummed out.

If you have camera groups you can select the group as a favorite and control power for all at once or open the group to view all cameras in it.
