We have made it to the end of Wyze Week and today is Community Day, a day to celebrate all of you in our communities. To do that we have two special events at 2:00 pm PT our PM’s Hongfei and Alex will be answering your questions in a Reddit AMA. Then at 4:00 pm PT we have a Discord Fireside where we will be doing some giveaways. So be sure to join us there. (Links to both below).
As a thank you we are also putting a different coupon code in each community, they can be found in these posts in out 4 communities (Forums, Facebook Core Community, Reddit, and Discord)
Yeah, I really enjoy the Discord Firesides, and I think @WyzeJasonJ and @WyzeVeronica did a nice job with that. Despite the technical glitches, they sounded like they were having fun, and it was a good discussion!
I recorded the Fireside, then had an AI make a transcript, then had an AI make a summary of the transcript for those who missed it (apologies for any inaccuracies from the AI…It got all the names wrong, so I told it to redo the summary without using names). The Community Chat Channel was hidden after the event ended so I couldn’t make any summaries of the chat portion of the event, but here is the audio summary:
Introduction and Icebreaker
The event started with introductions of the Wyze team members present, including product managers, designers, and those responsible for specific regions like Canada.
The icebreaker question was “What is one gadget or app that you can’t live without (excluding Wyze)?”
Team members’ answers included LED lights, social media platforms, and Wyze beta apps.
One team member mentioned their interest in LED light products and the impressive lighting setup of @R.Good
Giveaways
The first giveaway was a Wyze Cam Pan v3.
There were several other giveaways throughout the event, with prizes including Pan V3, OG, Wyze Cam v4, Scale X, a Wyze bird feeder with a Wyze Cam v4 bundle, and a Wyze Duo doorbell.
There were some technical difficulties with the giveaway bot, but the team managed to conduct the giveaways successfully.

A team member responsible for the Canadian region discussed the expansion of Wyze’s presence in Canada, including the launch of the bird feeder and efforts to ensure timely inventory for Canadian customers.
This team member also talked about the challenges of supply chain management and their active work to expand Wyze’s retail footprint.

They also expressed their appreciation for the community’s support and highlighted the unique and positive nature of the Wyze community.
The team acknowledged the valuable contributions of community volunteers.

Conclusion
The event concluded with a final giveaway and thanks to all participants.
The team expressed their desire to do more Fireside events in the future based on the positive feedback.
@Crease was introduced as well after the Wyze team mentioned how much more they liked the members of the Discord community vs. some of the other. To which I credited our Volunteer team
Thanks @carverofchoice !! Excellent use of technology!!! Good summary!
It was also very good to hear the enthusiasm from all of the Wyze team members for their product/service areas as well as their interest in our ongoing requests/suggestions in the wishlists, feedback, etc.
I know I may over do my positive enthusiasm at times but I really do appreciate the involvement of the Wyze team and volunteers here with us as customers.
as a Google Nest Cam/Protect products customer for over 15 years,
the only time I have seen a customer event was 15 years ago when Dropcam was the original cam company before purchase by Nest, then Google.
Within my recollection, I have never seen Google have any type of customer participation event for us and currently in their Google Nest & Google Home forum, there appears to be no to very little company involvement other than seldom announcements of a product change.
And yes, like everyone here, I would like more & more improvements, etc. … and we actually do get some/many based on our feedback … with products/services at a very reasonable price.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but as a new volunteer I appreciate your taking the time to post things like this, and I’m also just a fellow customer/user. Thank you.
I agree with your assessment of the Google Nest Community, as well. I’ve participated some there when I’ve had issues in the past, but it doesn’t seem nearly as helpful or cooperative as the Wyze Forum and Discord server (I don’t really have experience with Facebook or Reddit).
