Wyze Video Search Beta

I cleared the cache on my app but there is no search function on the events tab. I was trying it on the desktop site and that’s where I got no results to my query. Is it because I have older cams ( a CamV1 and 2 CamOutdoors)?

Question: When should be expect a new beta app? I have seen many assumed release dates in this thread, but no official replies and no new app?I spend much more time viewing my cameras and events on my phone than on my PC, and am eagerly awaiting trying the AI search on my phone.

Getting more results now, which is good.
Searched for “cat” and got 2 dogs and a cat. Should be a lot more of cats, and less dog. Still no feedback prompt.
Also only getting results of any kind from my v2 doorbell

I had the feedback prompt pop up on one clip I searched for but it’s only come up intermittently. Trying to figure out what I did to get it to pop up or if it was something I even had input on

Count me in!
Searching has always been a issue for me - especially “dog pooping on lawn” - since I don’t have a dog but I find dog poop!

Yes! This is one of the main detection searches I want too! I want to know which neighbor(s) are not picking up after their dog in my lawn. That is why I was checking similar things like searching for “dog on leash” or “Dog on sidewalk” hoping that would help show me recent dogs coming by with an owner who didn’t pick up after them. Once I identify the culprit(s), I intend to make a custom detection (leveraging Scyrpted/Frigate) and create an automation that turns on my sprinklers every time those people/that dog come near my property so the dog goes elsewhere instead of getting wet. :joy:

has anyone figured out the limit on number of keywords? its been hit or miss in my testing, andnI think its because I have too much noise in my search. dog simple, ( although it still get some other animals as dog)

dog/ sidewalk vs dog/ road vs dog in car or dog with car. this type of thing. I’m kind of wondering how the algorithm specifies one from the other or if it’s like Google when you’re doing a search certain marks such as quotations might help specify.

even in some of my simple searches it seems like color is more of a determining factor  but fun nonetheless

such as if a bird is a dark grey like a squirrel when I search squirrel.

Yeah, seems to be in it’s infancy. I assume it will get better over time as they add more contextual and filtering options to it. As you said, it seems to be most effective with the least amount of words used. Adding more words can sometimes add more “noise” results. It seems like search operators aren’t implemented at this time and negation doesn’t currently work, but they said they’d add that to the “wishlist” of things to work on in the future.

Why? Set sprinklers to come on when anyone/thing comes in lawn. I do!

Don’t want to annoy welcome guests like the mail lady (my mailbox is next to my door and the walkway up to my door is at the opposite angle for where she needs to walk and I tell her it’s okay to walk on my grass, and I even shovel a path for her through the snow in winter…but she’d get sprayed if I turned on the sprinklers), and package delivery people, and family/friends, etc. a few of my sprinklers do a little bit of overlap on the cement and I haven’t replaced them with ones that will be more accurate. Also don’t want it to spray kids walking on their way to or from school and make them run into the road, etc. If I can avoid punishing everyone, I’d prefer to limit only to the people who are not respectfully picking up after their dog. I don’t mind if someone’s dog has to go…I’m glad their animal is able to get out and enjoy a walk, just please don’t leave it in my grass. :man_shrugging: At least for my property…your dog can go if it needs to, just be responsible/courteous and handle it afterward.

Maybe Wyze should make a pet scat cleaner robot :joy: They did say they are working on a “chore robot” they might release in a few years. Hopefully it can be trained to watch for and then handle pet scat and throw it away for me. If they did that, I wouldn’t mind getting a dog again myself. I love dogs, loved growing up with them. But I don’t particularly love all the high maintenance…so I have cats now. :joy_cat:

It works well enough.

Pretty surprised when i search things like UPS it tends to fine all the things with pavkage setection and jut just searching for a ‘UPS’ logo.

One this i would really like to see from the wyze web view is a) the ability to grant a perpetual login ie: for a viewing station, that you dont have to consistently log into b) the ability to record the live video streams into wyze to local/remote nas via URL or add camera streams to home assistant c) dark mode

My sprinklers only go on the grass, and the detection zone works great for that as well.
There are sidewalks, use them. My grass is not a shortcut and place to wear a footpath. That goes for the mail person too.

It is kind of hard for people to pick up their dog’s pee, which yellows/kills the grass.

And yes, I have a dog.
When I walk my/a dog, I don’t walk it through people’s grass.

Just an idea, but once we get out of the search infancy, it would be great to see this as an indicator for rules as well. Once we have more stable understood rules that is.

Probably a long way off but one can hope

Got the new app today! I also figured out that you can’t go by the thumbnails when you see the AI results. For example a search for “3 dogs” brings up several results with me walking my dogs on my driveway and two that do not show any dogs. When I play both of the ones without dogs, a fraction of a second into the clips my dogs and I appear. It’s on odd, not a smooth, not natural appearance. One instant we are not there and then the next instant we are there.

How do I get the new (beta) app?

R. Dale Mercer

Here are the instructions to become a beta tester:

The new Beta App is now available to iOS users on Testflight.
Android users are still waiting for Google Play to release their review-hold on the app

What’s a “Wyzer” gotta do to get invited to AI Search?

I don’t know how they decided who to let into the beta test (maybe WyzeMengtingHu will say), but if I had to guess, I would guess it was based on who was enrolled in Beta and had Cam Unlimited. :man_shrugging: Could be wrong though.

I haven’t seen the videos stutter like that, though that is a common issue that happens to event videos in general.

I wish the thumbnail was chosen based on when the searched item appears, because I have also seen where the thumbnail shows nothing but later in the clip the object enters frame
