Wyze thermostat - Occasional temps that are way off

I’ve had the Wyze thermostat since pre-order and it’s always been pretty good. However, lately, I’ve noticed that infrequently and randomly, it will read an errant temperature that’s way off.

It’s something recent and has been occasionally causing short cycling of the furnace.

For example, last night when I was making dinner, I heard the heat kick on when it shouldn’t have, and I checked the app and it said it was 57 degrees in the house. It was actually about 68-70 in the room where the thermostat is. Once the furnace kicked on, it only ran for about 30 seconds before the temp jumped up to 69 and it shut down.

There’s no issue with drafts behind the thermostat, sun or anything like that, and most of the time it’s been accurate, but lately it randomly does this.

Anyone else with this issue?

I happen to catch the error as it happened last night. The thermostat was reading 59 degrees which caught my eye as I walked by, and the furnace kicked on. Within a few seconds, and before the blower even came on, the temp jumped to 71 degrees, which was correct. Of course that meant the furnace short cycled.
As far as I can tell, the 59 degree reading had to have just happened, because the furnace would have been running already since it was set to 62.
