Wyze Thermostat installation - Connector Confusion

Hi everyone,
My Wyze Thermostat

I’m in the process of installing a Wyze thermostat, but I’m seeing something odd with the connectors. On the Wyze thermostat, the top row shows the usual connectors (Rc - Y1 - Y2 - O/B - G), but the bottom row has the same connectors as the top instead of what I typically see in images, which should be Rh - W1 - W2 - * - C, and they’re upside down.

Does the orientation of the connectors matter, or will the thermostat work as long as I’m wiring the connections in the correct positions based on where the app tells me to install them?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

Attached are images of what my actual Wyze thermostat backplate looks like.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you got a defective backplate. Contact support and they can get you a replacement.

If you just want it to work now, installing the wires where the app tells you to install them should work, but that C wire needs to go to the lower upside down Rc spot (that’s C)
your lower labels should look like this:

so , with your current labels, white W1 wire goes in the upside down o/B connector and green C wire goes in the upside down Rc connector

I’d still recommend contacting support for the correct backplate, in case you ever sell your house or anyone other than you needs to work on your thermostat.
