Wyze Solar Cam Pan - Does Nothing Except When Livestream is Active

I have a Solar Cam Pan that does not capture any events (motion or sound) or track people…unless the livestream is active. I also have a v3 cam pan and thought they would work similarly, but this one just don’t do anything. I can be moving in front of it and it doesn’t move. As soon as I open the app and start the livestream it immediately starts tracking me as I would expect.

Am I missing something? It should work the same as a cam pan v3, no?

I have followed all steps listed in My Wyze Solar Cam Pan is missing or not recording Events, but no change in functionality. Is this just a dud camera, or do you have to have the livestream active for it to do anything?

It is very frustrating that it currently only tracks people (and not cars, animals, etc.). There is presently a wishlist request to update this! Vote on the wishlist item attached, and hopefully, with enough votes, they will address this! Solar Cam Pan Vehicle Tracking
