My Solar Pan Cam Review - With question

I bought 3 of these guys. Loved the installation. The base that you screw in for the mount is a nice solution. Nice click. The camera and solar panel work well together and can be removed in their entirety from this base if you have them connected to each other. I am lucky enough to be able to have them connected. Nice design and easy to assemble.

Functionality is the same as the rest of the cameras but I’m seeing some oddities that I’m wanting others to confirm. When I first got the camera, when it detected an animal outside, it followed it. Now it’s not doing that. Did anyone else see that? I would most definitely want the option for this.

The Person Tracking works well.

Unfortunately; someone on the Automation team forgot to include “Turn on the Light” as an option for an event. Hopefully that will get added soon. I used that on the BCP’s from Day 1. Even in Spotlight Control, you can only do PERSON for Smart Events. Nothing else. And you can’t schedule the Spotlight time to be used.

I really like the Solar Panel. It is keeping up. I like that you get a SUN indicator with lighting bolt charge. The Power Manager area is interesting. Not sure if I believe the data but what do I know.

Overall. Very pleased with the camera. Nice package. Really like the PAN outside on solar. Just wish it tracked more things when it saw things.

I have not witnessed that and don’t recall seeing that reported elsewhere, though I have seen other users suggest that they’d like to see that as an option, so I hope Wyze is paying attention.

My Solar Pan Cam always has a battery power of about 90% and I would like to do continuous recording but that option is not available. I would need to run a power cord about 100 feet to put it on an ac power source when i could easily do this from the current battery, even if I needed to add an additional solar panel. Please make this an option.

Continuous Recording will not last long on Battery Power. The Solar Panel cannot keep up.

I have not tried to Continuously Record on my BCP’s. I’m curious what others report in terms of how much they can continuously record before you run out of power.
