Wyze Smart Plugs with V3 cams

@habib
The other question I had on my previous post to you was:
I just ordered my Wyze Smart Plugs on WYZE using Amazon Pay. How will I know if they are V2 ? Could you help me determine this.
I’m no help you you here as I don’t own Wyze plugs.

Sorry. Meant to send it to Newshound…

Nothing to be sorry about

To the best of my knowledge the V1 version is no longer available. Any plugs you purchase should be the newer V2s. I believe there are two newer versions that use the Bluetooth setup rather than the old private wifi setup, but don’t really know the differences between the two newer versions.

I would have thought they were all gone by now too, but @SlabSlayer ordered 3 two-packs of Wyze Plugs from the Wyze Website in January, and all 6 Plugs received were V1s. He returned those, so someone else probably got them.

@tlhutch4, here are the differences between the V1 and V2 Plugs:

@Newshound Thanks for your input Since I decided to buy it from Wyze, it would appear that I will get the newest version. I’m very hopeful that the problems with going off-line have been resolved and I’ll be a happy camper.

No difference operationally; both the 2021 and 2022 versions are considered V2s and work the same way in the app. The difference is the 2022 version has updated internal components, so it is mainly a manufacturing update.

Just two months ago, 2 years after they replaced the V1, Wyze was still shipping V1s on some orders. See the text above the comparison picture.

As @Newshound indicated, I thought I would have received the 2022 V2 plugs as well when I ordered direct from Wyze in 2023.

I wanted the 2022 V2 plugs as they have the overheat safety cutoff feature.

I was very surprised when I got my 6 plugs and they were all V1 versions without the CFH Key Logo. Wyze Customer Support had me DM them a pic of each to confirm they were V1 and then sent me replacements and a return label to ship them back.

The replacements, however, were 2 packs of the 2022 V2 and one pack of the 2021 V2 which do not have the overheat sensor. I only wanted the 2022 V2 for 4 of my applications, so I let it rest.

You will know the difference between the 2021 and the 2022 V2 plugs after install. The Firmware Version tells you what version it is.

@SlabSlayer @Newshound
Well, my box of 2 Wyze Plugs ordered from Wyze arrive today. The first thing I will check is what version they sent me. Hopefully V2 or they will be going back, Upsetting to hear from Slabslayer that he ordered from Wyze this ear and got V1,

@SlabSlayer @Newshound @WildBill
Happy to report that the 2 Wyze Smart Plugs that I ordered from Wyze arrived as scheduled and the first thing I did was check if they were V1 or V2. They are indeed V2. My purpose now is to see if they stay ONLINE. Previous version (V1) did not),
