WYZE Skill for Alexa "Region"

Just trying to activate my WYSE Cam on Alexa. In the App “Account” it keeps saying the WYSE Skill is not available in this “region”. Is Carlisle PA 17013 so non-progressive that Alexa functions can’t be delivered or am I just doing something wrong?

I really did buy this cam and base station with plans to link it to Alexa.

Try going to Alexa app settings and your locations and set your location

Did that and enabled my phone to locate me when using the APP (at home when I tried it)

Back a week ago Alexa told me “WYZE Skill not available for this region”. At that time and again today I checked the Alexa settings location in including “US” as someone suggested “Carlisle is in the UK”

As of today Alexa has stopped “WYZE SKILL not available for this region” and now simply tells me to use the WYSE APP on my phone to “Allow ALEXA to access WYZE”

The WYZE APP is now where I get “WYZE Skill not available for this region”.

I’m about to assume ALEXA has quit supporting WYZE and all the stuff I find on the web is simply old information.

Thanks for the reply. I’d appreciate and info you may think will help as I have an ongoing day care that is using my property for a play ground. Just assuming I’m going to need the evidence when someone gets hurt on my property.

Yes that is the page. After entering e-mail and password even with “keep logged in” checked it still comes up “WYZE Skills not available for this region”. The I phone has my exact address and permission to use it when the app is in use.

This is a pretty good problem for the forum as far as problem solving goes. I don’t think the problem is your phone’s location setting. I say that because its the skill that is checking the locale. I believe you need to go into your Amazon account online via the web, not the phone app. And up between the search icon (magnifying glass) and to the left of your Name / Account & List, it should show US flag. I suspect yours does not. Even if it does, you should look under Account & List and find the country/location and set it to United States. Then log out and log back in. Check to insure it still says US.

It must be an incorrect setting that is showing your location not-in-the U.S… Because it simply does not make sense that Wyze would single out a city in PA and not support it. Or that Amazon would single out a city in PA and not support it with the skill.

Just logged in and checked. American fag is up, more to the left my "delivery address is listed correctly, and the block for country is United States. Also Alexa notifies me every time I get a package so it has always been correct.

This is tough. Sam gave you the right leads - some people have manipulated their Amazon addresses to force certain skills to be available to them. I suppose it’s possible Amazon has made a mistake with your location.

Who suggested this and under what circumstances?

It was on a web search of problems but doesn’t apply as both my I phone and my Alexa “echo show” know my correct address is in the US.

@gkmorgan, @Customer, may be have given you an excellent idea. Can you go into your Amazon account and change (add another address and make it your primary) - at least for a test? Maybe somewhere in Washington state? Surely Amazon has not blocked skills for Wash state, eh? You can still send packages to yourself with the extra address.

This address change might give you a clue if the location is causing the problem. ?? What do you think? :slight_smile:
