Well, since I has “people” and not “everyone” then there is a difference there… The term “people” does not include EVERYONE, but is an undefined number of persons, could be 5, could be 100, could be 1000, could be… We don’t all flip burgers, and thus some of us can afford the $400 smartwatch that is not depended on a secondary data connection to function. The wyze band is going to need to be tethered to the users mobile device 24/7 to even function. In reality you’re not going to have “more integration” - Buy an Echo device and you’ll have the same integration - And no one in their sane mind is going to stop wearing a $400 smartwatch for a cheap, less functional “Wyze Band.” - Alexa is far less superior when it comes to comparing it to WatchOS or AndroidWear/WearOS.
The “band” is most likely just going to be a rebranded “Amazfit” COR which is made by the same company Wyze took the WyzeCam design from - Xiaomi
“more cheaper?” The “er” on the end of cheap imply the “more” aspect, so the word “more” is not required. Just like “more better” is inaccurate - its just “better” - The wyze band is cheaper, than an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is better than the Wyze Band could possibly be.
And Apple Watches do last a long time; as long as you take care of them. I’ve had the Watch Series 3 (LTE) for many years now; and it still works great. It works just as well as my Watch Series 5 (LTE)

“No one is going to buy this. Why would anyone stop wearing thier Apple Watch or Android watch or wear OS or whatever they call it now”
That statement implies everyone has a expensive smart watch and there is no market for the wyze band.

As I said it my first reply I don’t think that wyze is targeting people who already have a sophisticated smart watch so it was not my position that people who do would buy the band and give up the watch.
Just throwing this out there: if you are looking for more testers on your video doorbell, count me in. I’ve been trying to hold out until you guys make something, but I’m getting antsy waiting. I’m most looking forward to this and your outdoor cams (sensing a theme?).
Considering most of their products are Xiaomi hardware with amended software it will probably be very similar to your Mi Band 4. I also have a Mi Band 4 and hope they incorporate Google Assistant and not just Amazon Alexa as Google’s Assistant is significantly more useful for home automation and queries.
If they aren’t done at the same time, resources are often devoted to Alexa first just due to the huge difference in user base size and then Google Home follows soon after. Last I saw, Alexa had a 70% market share on smart speaker home assistant devices versus 30% for all others.
Not dissing Google Home, I have both and like them both, but Alexa support will effect many more people.
Pretty sure Google Assistant took over market share by now, the numbers you mention sound familiar from about 3 years ago with everyone (even then) predicting Google would take over in a couple of years.
You had me curious, so I took a quick look. You are correct that others have increased on Alexa, but the newest info I could find was from November 19 and Google is dropping while Alexa is increasing again.
Amazon shipped 10.4 million units in 3rd quarter 2019 and Google only shipped 3.4 million.
Thank you for working so hard on the outdoor Cam and for the updates. I would love to get on the Early Access list for it as I did with my first v2 cam. Sure can’t wait to get Person Detection back also : )

I appreciate the transparency, but I’m disappointed you’re putting so much effort into making more copycat products. Instead, make the much needed improvements, bug fixes, and integrations your customers are asking for.
I appreciate the chart, beforehand I felt a bit in the dark waiting on the outdoor cam but this chart really helps clarify where things are. I am glad that Wyze is branching out with other products. Some of them are very similar to existing products already on the market, my only request is that Wyze not duplicate the high prices of such products today. This will be a big part of Wyze’s differentiation in getting the masses interested in buying their products.
Only surprise with the chart is the absence of the Wyze Light Wall Switch. I would like to see what the status of that product is and whether or not it will be 3 way compatible.
That would be great. I wish they you could also choose different notification sounds for each camera. If you have a few, knowing WHICH camera the notification came from would be handy. I love that Alexa recognizes the motion detector and sensor units from the sense kit. That lets me choose whatever I want to happen when they are triggered, but she doesn’t seem to recognize the cams (at least not for routines). Bummer!
