Wyze Plug stopped working -- just making a ticking noise

I recently purchased two wyze-plugs and one just stopped working yesterday. I came into the room and there’s a reasonably loud ticking noise – kind of like the tick-tock of an old-school wall clock. The blue light is on, but it’s completely unresponsive. I unplugged it and plugged back in, but no change. I tried a different room/outlet – no change. I tried a factory reset – no change. What do I need to do to restore use of this device? I’m concerned the tick-tock noise is a selenoid or relay and don’t want it overheating, so it’s just unplugged now…

If it’s clicking continuously without you asking it to in the app, it sounds like relay chatter. If that’s the case, I would contact support for warranty replacement since that would be a hardware issue.

Thank you. I definitely left it unplugged. I chatted with someone in support today and they arranged for a warranty replacement. Thanks!

I am on chat with support now. same issue. hoping they will set up warranty replacement.

Same issue, can feel the on/off chattering around the on/off circular button on the side.
Sent email to support.
Edit: Warranty replacement being shipped no-cost by Wyze - super easy process - Thanks!

Same issue here. Purchased in March 2022, and failed in May 2022. Customer service was helpful. Sending a form to fill out via e-mail, and will replace it. Hopefully those goes smoothly.

I followed up on the clicking noise as well. It was confirmed to be a hardware problem. My plug is 2 years old, so it is not covered by a warranty. Curious that a device as simple as this only has a 1 year warranty. I would have expected a life-time warranty at best, a 10 year warranty at worst. The technician confirmed the problem, acknowledged that it was a product defect and also admited that even though it was only 2 years old, it would not be replaced for free.

Guess what, I will never buy this product again. They simply do not support their product. There was no flexiblity and no genuine care that i was frustrated.

I will never buy a Wyze product again. I’ve had nothing but trouble and have had several plugs fail and customer support was not very helpful. I think that it’s a shoddy product, And am disapointed about how many have failed, usually just after the warranty expires.
