Is there any updates on the Wyze Mesh Pro USB port? The latest updates I’ve found are from 2023 (when the router was released) saying that it is being worked and no information or updates since. Can someone provide an update on if the USB function is still being worked on or has this been completely abandoned? I bought the Mesh Pro a few days ago and one of the main reasons for this purchase was to connect a hard drive into one of the routers.
A post from @WyzeSteveM.
I don’t know about other router manufacturers but on Asus routers, every mesh mode node with USB ports can connect to US drives and printers and make them available to all LAN hosts.
Edit - And if you have a Wyze router, you can connect any USB drive to the LAN by using a cheap raspberry pi, configured as an SMB server.
My printer is already available to all but a drive might be useful if I didn’t already use a cloud drive.
This port will forever remain a glorified cooling fan power plug, but that’s more than enough since this bit runs hottt as fuhhh
Like seriously, how did Wyze NOT know these things run WAY WAY too hot? I bought a USB cooling fan for it, which makes a big difference, but how did it get made with this flaw?
