Wyze Lock: Allow unlock feature in Alexa

No company that I’m aware of allows that function. Its way to insecure for a lock since all someone would have to do is yell in a window for Alexa to unlock the door.

I understand, I guess in the context of unauthorized visitors, I’m just not too worried about it.

Screaming at the top of your lungs into my kitchen window is just not typically how burglaries go down… it’s so rare that as long as it’s a non-default feature its not going to be a material risk enough for me to be concerned anyways. I’d be happy enough with a codeword phrase to be done with it (Alexa, unlock the secretdoorword), the second prompt is just beyond annoying. And the app requires it too :frowning:

In any case, just asking for the option.

There is a workaround that I could suggest. The caveat is that it is in no way endorsed by me if you to implement.

What is it?

Home Assistant can present any binary controlled device in any manner you might wish to consider.
You can get an instance up and going on a $10 RapberryPi Zero.

How you use this is under your purview.
