If that was the case, then I wouldn’t expect to see so many Wishlist > Wishes Granted topics or blog entries like this:
Much as @StevenA commented on the differences in our needs and wants (and I’d also add expectations to that list), I wonder what you consider “drastic”, because I expect we might differ there, too. In any case, I can think of a few feature additions/functional changes that I’ve seen on some of my Wyze devices post launch. Here are two:
- Video Doorbell v2 received a Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) option several months after that product launched. That wasn’t something I gave a lot of thought to until I had it as an option, and it makes a marked difference in the colors and image quality so that the scene isn’t all “washed out” on a sunny day.
- I don’t recall seeing an announcement specifically for this[1], but at some point they gave Cam v4 a Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature that it apparently didn’t have at launch.
If you want to support Wishlist requests for Solar Cam Pan, you can search to see what’s been suggested already for that specific product. (I’m seeing only one result at present.) Personally, I’d like to see Solar Cam Pan get a Timelapse feature, and a request exists for Battery Cam Pro to have this feature, so I think it makes sense for Solar Cam Pan to have something like that, too. I just haven’t yet seen anyone write that up in the Wishlist (though I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, including a comment they made in a Reddit AMA where they said Solar Cam Pan would not receive this feature).
Unfortunately, Wyze’s app and firmware release notes tend to be pretty sparse, and they don’t always make announcements about feature additions or even things like significant UI changes. ↩︎
