Truth! I lost my voice!
I chatted with a Wyze Wizard over the weekend to put in a request for the Google Assistant with Wyze Cam page to be updated to indicate that the Wyze cameras do not currently stream to the Nest Home Hub.
I’m new to Wyze and what won me over was the (prospect of) Nest Hub integration, which my old Amcrest cameras don’t have. This is a bit disappointing that it doesn’t work, At the very least, Wyze should be transparent on the #1 link that shows up in Google when you search for “wyze google nest hub” so someone else like me looks somewhere else for Nest Home Hub integration.
Why would they do that, and lose your business ? JK, I agree 100%. It’s bs, as a month ago “It’s Google’s fault, they are looking into it”. Now, “it’s both of us”. It doesn’t matter who’s fault it is… It worked, and then it didn’t, so fix it. Until then, don’t trap buyers, especially when similarly priced competitors, yi (and blink for prime day), work flawlessly!
I’m looking to return my Wyze Lock now. It was a good value a while ago IF it integrated with Google. Since there’s no time line, and it’s been so long, and the competition has caught up with lower prices, it’s time to move on from Wyze all together.
Hey Frederik, I read some of your posts, but honestly, I couldn’t really follow most of what you and your detractor were saying. I have to say, in spite of this, his/her tone sucked and bordered on disrespectful. And you, on the other hand…what an open-minded,.kind, gentle, thoughtful, intelligent person. I only wish I could be half as patient and understanding as you. Probably most of us do. Sadly, this is not a majority characteristic in human beings these days.
I also appreciated that you, even though the problem isn’t quite solved yet, tried to be very open and communicative and clearly your attitude is that you’re paying a lot of attention to the problem, are very concerned about it, and will rectify it as soon as you can. Screw that unkind, impatient butthead, who, instead of using his considerable intelligence and IT knowledge to help and provide possible new ideas, he seemed to be coming from a place of judgement and feelings if superiority. What a waste.
“You will never regret being kind.”
feelings of superiority.
Predictive text, what do you want? Obviously it was a typo, done on a smartphone. If it were a real keyboard it wouldn’t have happened, I’m a writer so I’ve got pretty decent typing skills of the real variety[Mod Edit]
Just tried out a TP-Link tapo C200 camera. Works flawlessly with the google nest max hub. About a 2 second delay.

Wyze gurus, the writing is on the wall… Observe it and become a customer vice profit company
Jason, I appreciate your editing efforts but at times, your editorial scalpel cuts a little too deep and with a wider swath than required… Just sayin
Not sure if it is a fluke, but my wyze cam pan started displaying again on the nest hub max. Still has about a 10 to 15 sec delay but it is working. Hopefully this is fixed.
Tim
Is this what we’ve become? Adopters so ecstatic that a request is granted, showing a feed with a 12-20 second delay, equates to a success? Comeonson…
I will admit I may go a little far in cleaning at times but it is usually because I have let it go too long and should have jumped in sooner
Just make sure you don’t go on a power trip.
Sadly yes, I continue to warn people that WYSE does not have solid technical solutions and that they are not a “security” solution, but will mostly work if you want to watch animals in your back yard.
Remember the saying, “you get what you pay for”
I have a Nest Hello doorbell and have yet to have a single issue with it, they have not removed any functionality and can not only detect a person
( which WYZE sill can’t reliably do) but the Nest Hello can identify the person.
Yes, I would have liked to pay less for it, but after dealing with 3 WYZE Cam V1, 2 CAM V2 and 4 Pan Cam issues the NEST was definitely worth the money.
While I agree that the nest products are far more superior, they also require a subscription rather than onboard storage. I would not mind paying more money if they would allow storage without a subscription.
Wyze reminds me of another person who promises but can’t or won’t deliver… I suppose their theory is that if they ignore it long and often enough we will begin to think it’s normal…
Now we have a version 3? Really? Just fix Google! What’s next, Wyze Mask v2? JUST DO ONE THING AND DO IT WELL!!!
