Wyze Doorbell not playing events on Motorola G power

I get events, but they wont play. I used to get the video error 09, now its just black screen with the circle spinning. When that stops, I can download the video, Must use Google photos to play the video. Events can be seen on web portal but they are rotated 90 degrees. Help Desk claims they need ‘to look into this’, but I heard this issue is pretty well known to them.

I have the Video Doorbell (wired only, not the Pro) and I am running the latest Android Wyze App 2.44.1.327 on a Moto G Stylus 2020 Android 11.

My Event Videos play in the app without any issues.

Try this: go to the Account tab, then App Settings, and enable the Hardware Decoder. See if that helps.

You can download and use any Gallery App or Video Player you desire to play the videos you download. Because you have an Android, Google assumes that the default Gallery App provided, Google Photos, is best. It is not.

Yep, same problem on my 2022 Moto G Stylus 5G. The doorbell worked very briefly back when I first installed it and now nothing. Some update somewhere along the line broke it. I can download the video and watch it, but that is a huge pain.
