does anyone know what this “wishbone” part (held up by needle nose pliers) does or how/where it goes inside the S latch chamber?

I took it apart to replace the dust bin clip (3D printed) and parts sort of flew out when I “unsnapped” the assembly. It was easy to figure out where the springs and S latch go, but this “wishbone” part is a bit of a mystery.

I just had to open mine to design and replace the dust bin clip, and saw your post.
This piece embraces the top mechanism that opens the dust bin.
