I am trying to turn off a camera when I get home and turn it on when I leave using location. I cant get it to work in the wyze automaions so I tried to make a alexa routine. When I went to select my camera all cameras show this device not currently supported. I have cam +. Am I missing somethis or is just a wyze current status with alexa routines.

Are you by any chance in Canada? The reason I am asking is that Alexa routines don’t work in Canada. You need a US based account in order for them to work. As for location based automations. it’s hit and miss. I have a location based automations to turn notifications off when I get to the property and on when I leave. It works six out of ten times.

Would you please post a copy of the Wyze routine/automation? I use one for the same purpose and it works pretty well.
Under automations, did you use or try the away and home shortcuts at the bottom of the page?
yes I can run the wyze automation manually but it doesnt run automatically.

This is such a fluid automation, how else would you want it to run. How else do you propse to activate it except manually once you create the automation. You state location but, how and what about location? How do you define location?
There is an Alexa skill you activate with theh command “Alexa, I’m leaving” and “Alexa, I’m home or back” but that triggers monitoring action by Alexa thru the smart speaker.
There is nothing to define location with the routine so define fot me what would trigger it on or off.
There are few options for you under automations for location triggers. I believe you need to wait for Wyze to develop and create new triggers that specifically address location based on smart detections.
The alexa skills and routines all know where my home is vial allowing location. In Wyze, I allow the app to hae the permissions of location and it is also defined under account/home. I am thiking your right need to wait as if I have to mannually execute it it is not automation. I have no issues with alexa when I leave or return home, just with the wyze app. It was why I tried alexa also for camera automation and thaT is not ready either.
