The V2 in the dining room with a sliding glass door to the side. When the outdoor motion light, the camera turns on and it starts recording. The outdoor version does not. You literally need to be 10ft max to trigger. This is crap. I used to have a V2 in the kitchen window facing the back yard to be my critter cam. Reason why I bought this to be outside and not have the blur of the window. This is just a waste of money. I should have used this money and purchased the eufy. Should have more testing.
The outdoor camera is not suppose to trigger due to changes in light. It is suppose to trigger when it detects a change in heat across the sensor area.
power and internet was fine all night (I was awake the whole time) and that vlan routing was 100% functional. No drops or retransmits. I have a very good ubiquiti network setup with full power and lte network backup. Unless it’s a very extended power outage it’s virtually impossible for my house to go dark
Yes it has stayed online since.
The most important aspect does not work. Outdoir cam does not detect motion. If i move the cam, it records. That is really odd but might be a clue as to what is wrong.
I recorded intervals and I recorded schedule. I recird manually.
Without motion detection, it is not useful at all.

Mine behaving the same way … it’s only detected/recorded motion three times. Twice as I was holding it (moving it to another location) and yesterday as I updated firmware. Have tried numerous detection/range settings, walked in front of camera, waved hand in front of camera, etc. and no dice.
@milehiguy and @rendres1, are either of you live viewing the camera or connected in settings when you are testing for motion? Exit out of those, wait for the blue light in the back of the camera to turn off, make sure you are outside of the cooldown period from your last motion event and now slowly wave your hand in front of the camera. Can you explain what happens now and what the blue light now does.
Edit/ also make sure you don’t have anything between your hand and the camera (no glass from a window or anything).
Well, at least yours worked once. Maybe it is software and a fix is near. I really like my pan, tilt cam. I put it in a 3rd party housing, thus breaking warranty, and with exception, has functioned well outdoors throughout the last winter , albany ny. It is still outside while I await an outdoor cam fix.
My big complaint is that I can’t talk to support, no number. And, announcement emails saying ’ we are working on it as quickly as possible. ’
I bought 3. One does not work except it appears to take a charge. I wish to return it but not response yet.
Thanks, I will check. I understand live viewing but I do not knowwhat you mean by connected in settings?
when you are in camera settings, you live stream is still connected with the camera. So you will want to exit settings and live streams, then test.
Also, just make sure you are mounting the camera upside up ( by connecting the magnet to the top of the camera ) .
@WyzeDongsheng explained it well. Example,if you are in this screen below watching to see if you are in the motion zone, it won’t trigger because you are connected to the camera. Exit from the camera, maybe even the app for testing purposes. Make sure the blue light is off and test away.
Thanks but now I can getting confused. The camera does not detect motion in regular mode or remote mode.
Test it upside down? Something loose?
All I want to do is try it connected to wifi and in remote.
By the way, the remote mode , says via wifi?, I connect to the camera and it disconnects from network wifi , so that when I go to another app, like email, it will not connect, wifi disconnected. I thought in remote mode it would be Bluetooth connection of the phone with the cam???
What do you mean regular and remote? Are you talking about travel mode for one of those? By upside down, since the PIR is hardware fixed to point slightly down from straight when the camera is upside right. If you were to mount the camera upside down, the detection zone is now, well upside down aswell and it the top 2/3rds of the cameras view. There are metal plates on both too and bottom of the WCO so it can be mounted right side up easy depending on your mounting situation.
All testing done while blue light is off (never during Live view or while changing Settings). The only times the blue light have ever come on are during Live view, two times when I’ve picked up and practically massaged the camera in order to move it (lol), and once when I did a f/w upgrade. In each of these three occurrences a motion event was actually captured. I’ve only had these 3 occurrences in over 3 weeks of continuous usage and multiple people walking across/toward camera at a variety of distances. Subject is always within the green detection zone, whether camera mounted upright or upside down (I’ve tested both ways). Pretty sure I know where this is headed.
Travel mote, yes means remote, awaY from wifi.
Regular, means , using wifi, so it has to be in wifi range.

Recall?
Sorry to hear that. Pls contact support for replacement or refund. We’ll take it back to analyze.
I have submitted requests to return.
No response. I presume 30 day return will be extended?
I really want the 3 of them to work. My pan-tolt is terrific.
I jyst turned the cam upside down and I got several recoding events. Now what? This is for only one cam.
If you go to the top of this post, I have posted a troubleshoot video. Can you let me know if you can follow the video and let me know the questions ?
- Are all settings correct ? per the video
- When outside of cool down time, and the camera back LED is off. Wave your hand in front of it, does the LED turn on ? if so , is it blinking and turning into solid blue ?
- When you go to App → event tab, pull down to refresh, do you see the video there ? ( may have to wait for 20-30 sec for the video to be uploaded ).
And for testing I’m sure you want people to be connected normally to the base not in travel mode for this testing.
