I want to use this for live view only. Not interested in any other features. Is this a good camera to setup and use as a live view camera when needed? After I am finished for my use can you shut is down through the software until the next time I need to follow something in live view?

If you want live view, I recommend a hard wired camera solution. I’d say you would get less than a day of battery if you continuously live streamed from it. Folks have had success using a v2 or pancam outdoors (disclaimer: these are actually indoor cameras so understand what’s involved there).
If you don’t mind charging the WCO multiple times a day, then I’d say go for it. Also, the WCO s are not designed for constant power. Charge, then unplug.
