Wyze floodlight v1 (Three-years-old) has recorded video to sd perfectly until a month ago it suddenly stopped recording video to sd card.
***When attempting to view video, it ONLY SAVES snapshots on the SD… Video is no longer recorded, and only event snapshots are saved on the SD.
***I have changed sd cards, reset and reinstalled the device, confirmed that the firmware is up to date: still no video being recorded to the sd card since last month.
Is it a firmware auto-update pushed by wyze that caused this issue to occur so spontaneously?
~~~I shouldn’t have to buy a new floodlight after only 3 years of use.
WHAT WILL FIX THIS ISSUE?
Just to clarify, the snapshots (still frame previews of an event) are actually stored on Wyze servers and not the SD card, so it sounds like an overall SD card issue. Does the cam see the card inserted and report its free space correcty?
SD has been set to continuous events since installing floodlight 3 years ago. I attempted to playback video via the app, as well as (removing sd card from floodlight) reading it in a computer. SD card footage shows same thing: SD card is only storing snapshots of events now; NO video is being recorded anymore, only snapshots are saved on SD card.
The SD card is not an issue, I swapped it out TWICE with new high-endurance SD cards, and it is the same issue: The camera recognizes and sees the SD card is in inserted, and it also recognizes how much space remains on the card. The snapshots are being stored on SD card because space is being slowly used on the card. Space is being used on the card, but ONLY snapshots are being saved on sd card now, NO video has recorded for over a month.
If space is being used it sounds like video is being recorded. If you put the SD card in a PC what is on it?
If it is saving only still frames to the SD card that’s a very odd bug, since that functionality should not even exist.
Exactly what symptoms do you see - when you play the video does it seem like it is playing but it is just a still frame and no motion? That could be some bug with the app or even connectivity, or maybe your cache needs to be cleared? Or is it giving you some sort of error?
Continuous and events are two different settings. Which one is your set to?
If you just go to the SD card screen from the live view, what does it show on the card - if you are set to continuous you should see a constant green bar on the timeline and be able to initiate playback from anywhere on the timeline. If events, then you should see small green bars anytime there is motion.
