Wyze Cam Floodlight needs both PIR & camera motion to activate floodlights (want PIR-only activation)

Anyone know how to make the PIR sensor floodlight activation work independently of the cam’s motion detection (i.e. like your typical dumb motion floodlight)? I am on the latest firmware for both the cam and floodlight, and using default Floodlight Settings (only “Motion is detected by PIR sensor” enabled. “Motion is detected by camera” is off.), I realized after testing that the PIR sensor by itself won’t activate the floodlights unless the camera detects motion as well. What’s the point of a PIR sensor with 270deg field of view when the camera itself can’t see 270deg?

I tested this by:

  1. Setting custom detection area in camera Motion Detection settings. The PIR sensor no longer activates the floodlights when walking outside of the custom detection area.

  2. Pointing camera in one direction. The PIR sensor no longer activates on the side the camera doesn’t see.

  3. Decreasing the camera’s Motion Detection sensitivity also decreased/delayed PIR sensor floodlight activation (already knew this from another user contacting Wyze support).
